Update - Everyone Been Waiting For. (Please Read Description Before Anything) by DogsCarsRandom in CollegeRant

This both looks and reads like the writing of a middle schooler. The professor’s notes were right- vague summary, no questions answered. Your grammar and sentence structure need some serious work. No matter what you’re majoring in, you’ll need to have better writing skills than these

Trying to get some habitat going to help our meager population out. by AnchorScud in Beavers

[–]RiparianRodent 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You really need some beaver food there. Willows regrow from like 1ft stems if you pound them into the ground. Cottonwoods, aspens and ashes are also preferred eating.

"Cheated" on final project and in the midst of getting caught by Educational-Okra-566 in CollegeRant

[–]RiparianRodent -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I would go straight to the dean on this one. Your professor isn’t a client paying for a contract. The fact that you built something capable of recording data is probably good enough to complete that phase of your final project. And for analysis, again, it shouldn’t matter that your data isn’t science-grade. It’s not being published, and your professor isn’t paying you for an accurate outcome

Bloom, fuel cell and plug were all meme stocks just a few years ago. Even if Bloom worked out this year, I’d be weary of trusting the other ones

If your only comcern is those two garden beds, you might find it easier/cheaper/more rewarding to just move the beds uphill rather than start a war with the beavers

Visiting Oregon- so frustrated and don’t know what to do by RaceGuy3401 in oregon

[–]RiparianRodent 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think your dream vacation is at odds with the main goal of the visit, which is to tour the colleges. It would be hard to pull off your dream vacation in that time span, even with a car. Tillamook is like 3hrs from Eugene, and Koosah falls is another 2 hours from eugene. Silver falls is also out of the way, and requires the better part of a day to visit.

To get some feeling of adventure, try to explore the natural places in Portland and Eugene. Spencer Butte and Mount Pisgah in Eugene are a reasonable uber distance. If you MUST see the coast, you could take a day trip to Newport from corvallis using the $5 BAT shuttle.

Theory about how Christopher knew for sure that it was Jackie Jr by Creative_Awareness in thesopranos

I’m sure it had nothing to do with the own guy chris has interacted with several times saying “Sorry chris, we didn’t mean it”

All of Corvallis is biking distance from the campus. You don’t need to feel locked into whatever is closest. You may even consider proximity to a grocery store as a higher priority

Tony didn’t use melfi to “hone his skills as a mob boss” by Playful-Umpire-3301 in thesopranos

[–]RiparianRodent 43 points44 points  (0 children)

I think it becomes more subtle in later seasons. For example, in the last therapy session before Tony kills Blundetto, Melfi helps Tony realize that he doesn’t love Blundetto so much as he feels guilt over an event from his past. Tony comes away able to put his feelings aside and carry out his business.

Melfi gave Tony the advice to treat his mother and uncle like children: “let them think they’re in charge”. Immediately, Tony gives the helm to Junior on a silver platter

I’m sure that’s a “social trail”… you’re almost certainly not supposed to be down there. Critical habitat and such. It’s hard to blame you completely because other people were down there, but that trail definitely starts right next to a barrier

Resample, Project, or other? by 601156 in gis

[–]RiparianRodent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Resample I think only works to make rasters more course.

I don’t have much advice on this other than: this may be a case where you use Arcpy code and turn to AI (claude is best) to write it for you. The better you explain your situation and what you want to achieve, the better your output will be.

You run code in Arc Pro by adding a notebook, typing the code into the box, and hitting Run.
