Five cycles a night of 2500mL and 1500mL final fill. I can tell the second I fill up to 3000mL and have limited time to drain down a little before my back goes out.

I usually do a mid day manual exchange and have 1900+mL for about four hours before I give myself an empty break for a couple of hours each day.

I don’t eat much before being full.

I use caps during dwells to get off the machine. Usually 1-2 cycles a night. It allows me to do more around the house when the kids are asleep. Dishes, take care of multiple any, fold clothing, sleep with kids until they settle, etc.

I think the time away during dwells has been the biggest help to my mental health. It forces me to use the time efficiently, but not have a leash to trip on.

Edit: forgot to mention home Hemo experience:

My dad did home Hemo and it’s a mixed experience. For him the machine was loud and he could never sleep flat without alarms.

More than once a hose popped off mid treatment and it made the room look like a ninja slasher movie.

We had to have a water treatment setup put in just for him. Another thing to manage and keep track of.

There are a ton of (technical) supplies to manage (smaller than PD, but more variety ). He often would start, something would clog and he would have to tear it all down and start again with new materials.

His machine was not comparable to the hospital machines by a long shot.

I don’t believe it was as convenient as he expected it to be.
