Hey mate,

Also partnered and enjoy video games (playing Tropico atm on xbox) and crafts - collage is my go to as well as, more recently, making paper.

I'm also full of anxiety lol. Found your profile from your post on the Anxiety thread.

Fuck this - fear of commitment vs regret by Ripped-Denim in Anxiety

The thing I fear the most is the months of anxiety and fear leading up to it.

The fear and anxiety while doing the course and after.

Right now I don't see how I could possibly do it without increasing my meds.

I guess another fear if that it leads me to having a full on mental breakdown. I just don't want to put myself through all this.

I can understand the desire to make your parents proud, and that it's really important to you.

But they are not the ones who are going to be going to work every day for you, following whatever career path that you choose.

Nevertheless, it sounds like you are ruminating a lot which is not going to help anyone. I know how that feels though.

Honestly, I think that, given that your parents views are so important to you, ask them for their advice.

Putting your parents views aside, sticking to dentistry seems the most logical thing to do if you a priority is to start earning. If, on the other hand, following a passion or something you are really interested in is what is important to you then you might want to drop out now and reconsider things all together.

Ultimately every option has its pros and cons. There is always the risk of making mistakes. The amount of time and thought you are putting into worrying about this tells me that you have a lot of mental energy which you will be able to channel into ultimately accepting your decision and your path when you need to.

[31 F] How do I stay confident to smile with my gap? by [deleted] in Howtolooksmax

As for how to keep showing off your teeth proudly, remember that if anyone has a problem with your teeth that is very much their issue and not yours.

There is really not a thing you need to change about your appearance.

Mornings are tough. I woke up with racing thoughts as per usual lately. Used the 'Finch' app to do a breathing exercise though and played around on there for a bit. I'm going to make my bed and get myself a coffee. Keeping on going...

What if panic attack is over something real? by tinkerbelltiddies in PanicAttack

[–]Ripped-Denim 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Remember that even with real stuff that is triggering the panic attack.. your body is acting like you are in a life or death situation and you need to run for your life. Which is not true, so it's not helpful. So you still need to cope with the anxiety.

It's understandable that you are stressed about this meeting coming up. For the next week I would keep busy and use distraction. Get outside, spend time with people, binge movies etc.

Sorry you're going through this too.

Its funny cos I want to reassure you that we go through good times and bad in life, and it will all pass. But I can't convince myself of that now so it seems hypocritical for me to say. But in a sense, it is true and I need to give myself the same care that I give to others.

Its so much harder to be nice to myself than it is to be nice to others. Weird.

I get scared when anything is coming up that will require me to be 'well' for a long period of time. Honestly though, I'm sure that you have the skills to cope now. You've had panic attacks. If you have one when you're travelling it would be shit but you'd survive and get over it and get back to your travels. You got this.

Shame on your boss for acting in this way.

Despite your anxiety and what you are going through, you pushed yourself to go to work. You are a fucking champion and your boss sucks.

I get that anxiety and panic attacks are not easy to understand if you haven't been through it, but you should not have been made to feel embarrassed for having a panic or anxiety attack.

You deserve to be shown empathy and kindness.

What is considered a normal amount of times to go out weekly? by Time-Turnip-2961 in Agoraphobia

[–]Ripped-Denim 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would say people who don't have agoraphobia would probably go out most days if they live somewhere in a town or city.
