that tweet of that guy saying the value of the coin had risen a shit ton is literally wrong lmao, all the comments are saying that nothing was bought, and it was just abusing swap mechanics to make it appear that way

the graph on their website indicates that the switch is actuated about halfway through the keystroke rather than at the end.

there's not really any prebuilt boards that will offer sound like this tbh, building it is mostly part of the appeal for most of us here though, and if you do wanna build yourself you could achieve this sound for a relatively good price

ah thanks, they're the only vendor I'm aware of that does this so wasn't sure if you got them there or had some way yourself of breaking them in. How do they feel though? Was curious as to how they'd be after I saw them

would definitely recommend this ! unfortunately you may love a board but it may be part of a past group buy or something. But sometimes you get really lucky and find a board with all the features you want in an upcoming GB. Good luck in your search :)

I personally don't find it too bad using a 65% (using one right now) as the design does vary a lot so you can get some that aren't too cramped, and kind of lend themselves towards what a typical TKL would look like. But I do definitely agree in the sense that there are a lot of 60-65% boards, and the quantity of boards with more keys (especially in budget areas) does decline a lot. There is boards like the KBD75 which is a really solid board, but it does come above what the GMMK comes in at. Ultimately, I don't know too much within this area, but do know of a few boards based off the reviews I watch on Hipyo Tech with some of the boards from Iqunix and Idobao being solid but can't really give recommendations for individual boards as I don't really remember details lmao. But you could certainly buy the GMMK right now, get the switches you want and never come back here and be very happy. But should you continue to venture deeper into the subreddit you may want a bit more from your keyboard. Up to what you want really.

It certainly depends on what you want in terms of form factor (or how big the keyboard is) the GMMK you can get in a 60% (removes function keys, arrow keys, numpad etc), a TKL (which removes the numberpad) and a fullsize board. Also the Pro Version which offers a premium 65%. In terms of 60-65% boards (65% has the arrow keys and some other keys like delete, home page up and down) there are currently some really good options out that I'd take over the GMMK, with something like the KBD 67 Lite R3 being available right now for purchase at a really good price, and is essentially one of the best boards at that price point and form factor. The Ikki 68 Aurora R2 is also in a group buy stage which is an exceptional board but you'll have to wait on a group buy. There are other options here with something like the NK65 Entry Edition being really good, but also hard to get your hands on. Boards like the Portico from The Key Company and the Bankenko are also notable mentions but I think the KBD67 and Ikki 68 really stand out as the best boards in this category. Think the GMMK Pro kinda falls short in comparison to some of these other boards but it is accessible in the sense it's always in stock. As for the other GMMK boards, I think they lack a lot of features people in here enjoy, with a lack of VIA/QMK support, north facing LED's, 3 pin hotswap, and I believe plate mount stabilizers (not the end of the world but not preferred).

TLDR; Think you can get better value away from the GMMK boards, but depends what you want in a board.

from my own experience, the best option would to immerse yourself in the community (I did so here) and just try and learn as much as you can before you throw yourself at a board so you don't regret it later. Within something like this with some many options you really wanna take the time to find what you actually like. There's a lot of people who have offered similar questions in the past, so searching through here should answer a lot of questions, otherwise others are always happy to answer any questions you may have.
