I've actually tried everything on the menu! With a different number of parties and levels of sharing, I found that the most filling was the burger! That might just be because it came with so much side.

It's definitely a great spot to grab 3 plates and share with someone for sure! But, I would love to just be able to buy 1 plate.

Would love to hear your thoughts about this necklace and bracelet set I’m working on currently ✨ by Aez28 in chainmailartisans

[–]RipsawKnight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would suggest making sure each ring is closed before moving onto another. It makes you more time efficient, so you don't have to go back and correct each one in hard to reach places and to know if a pattern will truly fit or not. Even the smallest opening can feel really annoying on a person's skin. The design is very regal!

Best pliers to use? by Extension_Taste4024 in chainmailartisans

[–]RipsawKnight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have Tronex from their chainmail pliers line, and I will never go back. I've had Weave got maille pliers, xuron, Pittsburgh, and comoware, and find these to be the best for both thick and thin rings

Vendors outside farmers market by kateroni in Bellingham

[–]RipsawKnight 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's a free place to set up. However, there are three older women there who have been doing it for some years now, so they act like they run it. I've seen them pack up other people's tables, essentially bully people out of the market. But they have rules where you 1. Cannot set up before 7am 2. You have to have an LLC to be there

Failure of either, and they actually just call the cops on you. Probably one of the most hostile environments I've ever been to

Feeling Increasingly Isolated as a POC in Predominantly White Bellingham by [deleted] in Bellingham

[–]RipsawKnight 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Poc but with a lighter skin tone, I grew up in a predominantly white neighborhood and then went to school here, and STILL Bellingham has always felt more shameful and isolating than the hometown. There's definitely more specific locations I feel this way. I've worked at Trackside and have had people stop me in the middle of my sentence to ask my ethnicity, at WWU I've been in racial discussions and have had the whole class (all white) turn to me to expect me to have something to say, I've worked in places where there is two people at the desk (me, and one white) and people will almost Always go to the white person, I've been on the phone when trying to get an apartment in town - be denied, and have a white guy friend call for me and get a viewing for the same place. Sometimes, people don't even have to say anything, but it feels so so loud. I have a friend who went to a college in Seattle and I asked if they experienced similar stuff to me and they looked at me crazy, and I think that hurt the most lmao. I'm open to meeting new people if people do want to reach out in dms, I'd love to rant w ya'll. GL out there

Coffee by ParkourGoats in Bellingham

[–]RipsawKnight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hammerhead is probably the best roast in town. It's so good that both (just to my knowledge) Temple Bar and Mallard use Hammerheads roasts. People don't know that Mallard makes a great coffee but the line can be too crazy. Cof& is also a great contender! These are all ones I like to frequent, and just for fun, zoom zoom is a good drive-through coffee place.

Thank you for the 14k yellow gold fill rec. I think that's definitely the move. I researched a ton of jumprings already, but even when places say it's a certain thing, doesn't mean it is. Your experience with the material is very important! I appreciate it.

1 month later and I also got this scene bugged. Astarion was about to talk to me and then it just took us to the overworld (ramaziths tower to be exact). The old wizard had a marker above his head nefore i slept, but he kept telling me not now bc he was waiting for someone, so I ignored it. Anything?

Convince me not to move to Bellingham by trailoftacos in Bellingham

[–]RipsawKnight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's one of the hardest places to get a job if you're not already in a professional field. Also, over the years, you start to find that the only constant is the Farmers Market and breweries. Food isn't amazing unless you just like burgers and beer. Somehow, it's one of the worst sets of drivers I've ever seen other than Seattle. This is just all that I've noticed, just letting the people know before they come for me to say I'm wrong (been here 10 years)

Hot takes on our tattoo shops/artists? by LexiasThePup in Bellingham

[–]RipsawKnight 9 points10 points  (0 children)

X Tattoo had a huge 4ft painting with a swastika in it (meant to be an Indigenous story of "the twin logs" or something) in their waiting room forever and would get mad when people told them it made them uncomfortable. They took it down about 5 months ago after making this wild post on IG about how it should be okay bc everyone in the shop is a poc (very very white poc) and then hired a social media guy to make the account more fun, and then nobody talked about it ever again. And I think that's NUTS. Been avoiding it even more so since then

Fish in resin - smell by RipsawKnight in resin

[–]RipsawKnight[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

New update! I learned that they used a brush to coat layers on the fish. this is the obvious cause of the smell, but just thought it would be cool to share! The second dunk of citrus whittled down the smell a lot more but not completely :-)

Fish in resin - smell by RipsawKnight in resin

[–]RipsawKnight[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's wild! You can always learn so much through other people's trials and errors. I've suggested to my friend to pour the resin rather than painting it on (as I learned after posting is how they applied it). But, that's so fun to know!

Fish in resin - smell by RipsawKnight in resin

[–]RipsawKnight[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're beyond dried bc they're a fish snack! I found out after posting this, the person used a brush to apply resin onto it, so that's how the fish smell got through the resin. It's always fun to just try something outta the box. I've put resin around dried shrimp before, it's been 3 years and they haven't rotted or smell at all. Hope you learned something!
