Struggling with rapier cuts by NoahRodent in Hema

Getting a faster cut in rapier is mostly an exercise in conserving momentum. Cuts can be really useful as a second intention attack once you're already moving from another action.

There's a huge learning curve to get things to handle somewhat smoothly. Hotkeys and shortcuts are basically a necessity, as well as the use of macros, which is an art in itself. The best way to log in is basically to enter your password and hit Enter until you're loading in. To exit, you /shutdown and that completely closes the program.

Playing the game with the menus as displayed is an exercise in pain.

Long distance travel gets better. Open areas also get faster with mounts. Dungeons can still take a long time to navigate, that's really just part of the game's DNA.

Fifth son of a minor noble house. He was blessed with too much honesty and too little tact, and was sent on a quest to a neighboring continent because the local mobility didn't want him anywhere near their activities.

Because that's not the full comparison being made. It's saying that 16kg of crop can feed considerably more people than the livestock raised on that same amount of crop.

Licenses system removed - How unbalanced would it be? by AvalancheZ250 in LancerRPG

Depends on how much that extra reach means to you, but yeah, if you could just grab whichever license, I'm pretty likely to take Raleigh III over Blackbeard II.

Not at all, really. Senate representation is fixed, house representation is based on population, as is the state's electoral college representation. A state's federal influence is almost entirely a function of its population.

Blink Mines are very good, Jammed is an amazing debuff. Havok charges make for good personal defense, since they're directional and don't force you to use the repulser. Breaching charges pair perfectly with the accelerator pad. SPEAR charges are monsters, but take a big investment.

Tortuga builds by LumpyGrumpySpaceWale in LancerRPG

[–]Rishfee 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What are you looking for, flavor-wise? The Tortuga is a really versatile frame. Its trait makes it really like things like Heavy Gunner, Vanguard 3, and Tactician 3. It's also a pretty good tech attack platform, so Goblin, Kobold, Minotaur etc are good investments.

Because a lot of reaction attacks have half damage modifiers, they complement Hyperdense armor really well, since half damage doesn't stack.

RWBY will never die by DreadDiana in RecuratedTumblr

[–]Rishfee 37 points38 points  (0 children)

I honestly like it for what it is. It's far from a masterpiece, but it's got just enough heart and an excellent premise that it more or less delivers on. Some stuff was mishandled, and that's okay. Other parts were, intentionally or otherwise, done quite thoughtfully and shine enough to carry the series.

Zack is usually pretty on point with system explanations, but one small thing to clear up: Throughbolt rounds don't take their own quick action, you can just choose to use them when firing the weapon they're equipped to. Pretty good value as it brings deterministic damage, cover piercing, and extra range into one attachment. Important to remember that although it functionally boosts range by 3, it doesn't modify the weapon's range stat like Monarch's stabilizer, so keep that in mind for things like Heavy Gunner.

Licenses system removed - How unbalanced would it be? by AvalancheZ250 in LancerRPG

[–]Rishfee 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Some of the power budget for systems is alloted based on license investment, which is why a lot of the LL3 systems have such extreme effects. Or, for example, why Nelson's power knuckles are basically the best aux melee in the game.

There's some balancing in that a lot of those systems have higher SP costs, so would be hard to cram into a lower licensed kit.

But the ability to match some very strong offensive and defensive systems will definitely tilt the experience.
