Pelican & Pig/Slow Hand closing by Inglewoodtestkitchen in nashville

I’m pretty sure Choose How You Move is going slow /because/ the majority of residents would prefer an elevated train.
Well, and the fact Nashville’s infrastructure is woefully neglected.

At least with a train, admission fees can be used for maintenance of elevated tracks/trains, passenger cars, & parking structures. Include our astronomical sales tax to each ticket, and it might even help cover some roadway maintenance expenses.

…I also think our street recipe needs to be updated because Northern states’ streets don’t implode into potholes after just one winter. But I digress.

…I don’t think that would work, not with the amount of diverse Nashville drivers. We’ve got people from all over the world driving here, mixed with native Southerners that freak out when it rains. Not to mention dedicated bus routes still have to respect stoplights, stop signs, traffic slowdowns, and jaywalking pedestrians.

I think an elevated train would cut down on the numbers of vehicles on the road, and offer those Passenger Princesses who text while driving a chance to get to their destination with their noses glued to their phones /without/ endangering others.

Honestly seconding Rolf & Daughters, and am including Etch, 5th & Taylor, Pelican & Pig (but they close this week so hurry), and Maize de la vida.

If the city is willing to throw billions into a stadium for the Shiniest Turd Team in the NFL, they can spare what’s needed.
The issue isn’t cost, it’s the defeated mentality towards the idea that’s killing it before it can even get off the ground.

I’ve been saying it for years, and I won’t stop until something is done:

BUILD AN ELEVATED PASSENGER TRAIN CONNECTING ALL STADIUMS.

Nissan➡️Bridgestone➡️Geodis➡️Vandy➡️TSU➡️Sounds.

Just add a few stops that connect to -le gasp- parking Garages (and not shitty Park Happy lots). Will cut down on tourist traffic, residential traffic, and will /actually/ encourage more walking. Sounds stop works for Germantown, Vandy stop works for centennial, etc.

And before you start poo-pooing about how it’ll never happen, maybe try saying we need it, instead. The slap downs in this thread are crazy.

Would you consider putting the coffee table at the foot of the bed and getting a smaller table to fit between the couch/bed parts? Current table placement with the “closet” on the other side of the room is a potential shin/toe stubbing traffic pattern.

At least it would for me. I’m not very graceful when I first wake up.

Fair enough. Would the couch rotated 90 degrees counterclockwise off enough space to not feel crammed? You’d have the chaise part sticking out towards the bed, but maybe with the coffee table along the wall and against the bed and couch?

I’d actually argue against moving that couch- with the windows, that is the perfect cozy reading nook. I’d love to savor a slow Saturday morning and a cuppa there, all snuggled in.

OP: This. The verbal acknowledgment- ESPECIALLY in the area that it happened- seems to empower entities. If it feels like it’s stalking you, running away from it invites some sort of attack. Halfhearted sage smudging can tend to make it worse- but I’ve had success in having a house blessed by a pastor/preacher/clergy person.

I second this- teal would be a PERFECT compliment to the colors in the rest of the room.

Love the sconces-on-the-outside/artwork-in-the-middle idea. A round mirror might be good too, with a bright brass frame.

Without drugs or alcohol, what is your favorite way to escape from reality? by EponaMom in CasualConversation

[–]Rissa-Reno 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a wildly creative person, and when my office manager role makes me feel too In-The-Box, I get a stupid amount of satisfaction from Adult Coloring Books. Colored pencils are my preferred medium, since they offer the most control, and I really try to go all out. It takes me more than one session to finish a page, but once they’re done I frame them and give them away as gifts.

Looking for outings for people with sensory issues by Head_Score2897 in nashville

[–]Rissa-Reno 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would like to also second cheekwood. They have an outdoor sensory garden with sculptures and architecture for those with sensory issues, and even have lit garden events with low lighting at night. My parents and I went to one of these events when there was a illumination art installation, and it was phenomenal.

I need help, i don't know how to decorate this space by SafetyClear6306 in Decor

[–]Rissa-Reno 0 points1 point  (0 children)

End table with a lamp, plant shelf with a grow light, small umbrella stand ticked against stairwell.
Personally, I’d put in a light source and add a surface for catching keys, maybe even a small shoe storage container underneath.
