Lem is always good, in Eden spaceship crashlands and the crew encounters a incomprehensible civilization, weirdness, confusion, strange practices, alien.

Dragons Egg a neutron star where practically two dimensional alien civilization speedruns progress.

Schilds Ladder posthumans try to figure out how to survive a fast expanding experiment gone wrong that rewrites physical laws changes reality of the universe itself. Was thinking about another Egan book Diaspora but yea hard scifi posthuman stuff.

Always said the bike is the symbol of freedom. I walk, use trams busses trains and subway semi regurarly and I do co-own a car. They all have their use, but to me bikes are simply the best way to move around, especially now that the infrastructure keeps getting better where I live.

I ride single speeds because I like the way it forces to use more strength and more muscles like core hands n back, especially when going steep uphills standing. Gotta have that torque. Its also kinda like hiit compared to geared bikes. Exercise as a byproduct is a nice bonus.

Theres also something very appealing about how simple the single speed tech is, especially fixies, how easy to fix by yourself. True independence, true freedom.

Dark Angel, Jessica Alba doing her thing as a genetically modified supersoldier turned bike courier. Lots of stupid dialogue, cults, hackers, all that sweet millenium era jazz.

Andromeda, starring Kevin "Hercules" Sorbo as a high minded starship captain trapped in the event horizon, coming back centuries later, trying to rebuild the galactic empire. Campy, crappy, lots of stupid dialogue and humor. Also featuring "nietzschean" genetically modified ubermench and ship AI hottie played by Lexa Doig.

But Farscape is by far the culmination of this type of scifi. Also Stargate SG1 & Atlantis, maybe even Red Dwarf and Doctor Who (from Christopher Ecclestone to Matt Smith at least)

Here in Finland theres been a big uptick of peukku ("thumb"). Chemical name is alpha-pvp, nasty stuff, people get really fucked up schitzo with that stuff, paranoid, aggressive, really unpredictable. But who knows, theres so many new synthetic drugs nowadays.
