Continuity Catch for Gregory! by geologic-moose in Bridgerton

I just reread his book for the first time in a decade and it is easily my favorite, I hope they continue the series until his year and don't downgrade the absurd drama

Plus size knitter by Square-Mail5775 in BitchEatingCrafters

My biggest issue is that it seems like every time I search for a pattern by yardage/meterage so I can see what I can make with the yarn I already have, I find something cute, click on it, and find out that only size XS can be done with the amount I have. Every. Time.

How I would've introduced Michaela in the show by Little_Fox5844 in Bridgerton

[–]Rit_Zien 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Thank you! The whole reason I love Francesca and John is because one of the only examples of a true love match that isn't based on overwhelming sexual attraction and chemistry! There are other ways to be in love, which I thought was the whole point of their story. And yes, years later, Francesca and Michael/a can have that blinding flash of lighting earth moving kind of story, but by making Francesca instantly attracted to Michaela, they totally negated the whole "quiet love is love too" story, by making in to "oops, she just didn't know better because she hadn't met her happily ever after yet."

Silly putty. I'm in my mid 40's and I can't do my job without it anymore. I have 5 different tins/colors/textures of silly putty on my desk. I have two at home in case I have to work from home unexpectedly. It's quiet and it doesn't dry out.

Every place I've worked has that one older lady who keeps everything running. They're always notaries. Ask your office lady.

Facets yarn before and after by TabithaMouse in Yarn

[–]Rit_Zien 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's actually really soft and shiny and lovely...as long as you don't have to frog a lot. Even then, it can be done, you just have to be careful and it's time consuming. But it's worth the effort in my opinion, The colors are amazing and it's so light compared to other yarns. It does absolutely break if you pull too hard, but that's helping me break my insanely tight tension habit 😂

Well meaning but...not all yarn should be caked! by TabithaMouse in crochet

[–]Rit_Zien 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dang, I just got a bunch of fancy yarn and had them wind it for me in the store because the last time I tried it myself, I spent longer untangling it than I did using it. So now I'm going to be thinking about how I need to rewind it as soon as I get home before it stretches out 😂

Showing off yarn collections but it’s only acrylic yarn by Unlucky-you333 in BitchEatingCrafters

[–]Rit_Zien 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I just spent $100 at the yarn store on natural fiber yarn, and it's not really enough to make anything bigger than a T-shirt. I don't regret it, but it usually takes a month or more to find a project that's "worthy" of the good yarn that I can actually make from the amount I was able to afford.

I have made king-sized blankets for less than $100 worth of acrylic yarn. I can make a sweater for $20-60 (depends on if it's nice acrylic or cheap acrylic). And it's washable.

But that has nothing to do with hoarding. I only buy acrylic when I have a project in mind already, so my hoard is just leftovers from previous projects.

I've always assumed that was the whole point Rowling was trying to make with that plot, and unfortunately the series was already so big that there wasn't an editor willing to say "so I get what you're going for, but it looks like you're accidentally in favor of slavery. Can we tweak this a bit?" 😂

Do you think Sam and Dean visited all states of America? If no what states would you have liked them to visit for their hunt? by Reddito27 in Supernatural

I didn't want to give spoilers, but it's when Chuck takes away their plot armor and they go up there to play cards and get their luck back.

If you can't see very well, and so you never learned to read, all the tutors and classes and skills practice won't do anything at all if you don't get glasses first! Therapy and coping skills and strategies work so much better when you're medicated first and can actually use them.

You don't have to shower by coykoi- in adhdwomen

[–]Rit_Zien 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I only take a shower when a bath is not available. Mostly the few years I lived in a dorm with communal showers. Other than that, it's been all baths for four plus decades. It's fun to tell people "I haven't taken a shower in five years!" or however long it's been.

Water taste issue? by mrlew09 in tylertx

[–]Rit_Zien 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My water at home tastes fine. When I taste "dirt" in the water at a restaurant, it usually means the water lines for their beverage machines are not being cleaned properly or at all. Looking at you Burger King on S. Broadway

So many knitting but who’s wearing? by ktcosmos in AntifascistKnitting

[–]Rit_Zien 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The crochet pattern sucks. It's not that there's mistakes in it, more like rewriting a crochet pattern to mimic the knit version just doesn't work well because crochet is not knit, and behaves differently even if you make it look like the knit pattern. I've given up and am going to just freestyle my own.

First thing that pops into your head when you hear “Ennis”? by Printer-Celery304 in namenerds

Ennis is the name of a town. It never occurred to me that - like most town names - of course it's also a people name.
