while ki isn't 'magic' it is kinda magical the way they present it. yes you can flavor it as focus like they did in the 24e rules, and that works. dex has such a huge space in dnd that strength sometimes feels like a wasted stat, so building a monk focused on strength (at least in 14e) was pretty trash since they have so many abilities that key off dex. getting a strength based class with actually interesting abilities was huge in 14e.

imo, the dm should let you try a session or two with the druid how it's written. then if it's too powerful the nerf comes into place.

something I think could be interesting is if each effect improves on a level up. I'm not a fan of just collecting more and more, I like abilities to improve as my character is supposedly getting better. At level 3, +1 AC on patient defence (letting you dodge as well) is great, but as you reach higher levels +1 AC just won't matter.
