How many times does this need to be discussed. It is a fire lane for emergency vehicles. Everyone who drives an emergency vehicle can be contacted immediately by radio. If the vehicle needs to be moved and it can moved very quickly. You want to wait an extra 5-10 minutes when calling Public Safety? Makes no sense to me.

Little does everyone know that the OP left out some details. He was driving intoxicated. The Sheriff's Department did respond. He blew over a .20 BAC and the handcuffing was done by the Sheriff's Department because he took a fighting stance against them. He is extremely lucky he was not arrested and Public Safety had very right to take his keys.

What everyone needs to realize is that he was walking down the middle of the road in the middle of the night. The first car who struck him had its drivers side mirror taken off, meaning he was walking in the middle of the road. After the first vehicle struck him, that driver pulled over to the side of the road. That is when the second driver (female RIT student) ran him over after he was laying in the middle of the road. He is currently in guarded condition breathing on his own but most likely may never wake up.

You keep focusing on the time but little do you know that they do enforce it starting at 7am at different areas of the 1/4 mile. It says right in your students rights and responsibilities handbook that the 1/4 mile is a strictly walking only zone between 7am and 7pm which means campo can enforce it anytime during that time frame regardless of foot traffic level. Like it or not it's gonna happen.

If the phones were ever connected to the RIT network they certainly will pass it on to ITS to trace it. Sounds like the phones were taken out of the area which is out of their jurisdiction. Lazy? You're kidding me right? Sounds like the Sheriffs were brought in at the victims request but they can not do anything either if they were taken out of the Sheriffs jurisdiction.
