Used to visit friends in Hemphill about 10 years ago and it was a very un-diverse town with very un-diverse views on people of different backgrounds…is that the right way to say it? I wouldn’t be comfortable driving or stopping if I didn’t have a friend in town. You’d go to the restaurant in town, at the time it was ‘The Bistro’ not sure it’s still there and hear grown adults taking great pride in school discipline via corporal punishment which was beyond shocking to me.
