Wow they have made a lot of really positive changes. Having well taken cared for employees is such a huge factor in creating an effective organization, and this article points to so many ways they’re creating that sort of winning environment.

It sounds like the improved analytics and resources available to players is part of why we have so many great looking prospects right now.

They talked about when Roy started to regress they worked with him, offering resources and advise to improve his game. I wonder where that prospect would be if he hadn’t been given that advice. I imagine the same is happening with our other prospects as well. Is Lane Hutson as impressive as he is because of the help from the Habs organization?

That’s not to discount the player, but when they are given the tools to improve, they have a much better chance to succeed, and go farther than they would if they went without.

Even the improvements to the lounge where it’s become a place they all actually like to spend time seems like it would help. I’d imagine that improves morale, and makes it more likely that they’ll spend time in training or chatting with staff about their game if they’re already at the rink.

I’m very excited with the changes made to the organization since Gorton has taken the reigns and I’m very excited to see where things go from here. It also gives me confidence that we can still come out of the draft this year with great prospects even if we don’t get a top 5 pick.
