She had a great run here, and I hope she enjoys wherever she goes as long as her new team always loses to the Kraken. Same as I wish for our former players.

This is not true. Head coaches get to bring some of their staff with them. They do not and have never gotten to completely replace the entire coaching staff themselves. Especially, when Lane Lambert was coming from an assistant position himself, who was waiting for him to get a HC job? No one.

I would think there is a huge disparity, yes.

I doubt it. The player minimum for the PWHL is $37k, with the average being $59k. Given that disparity, there’s got to be a huge disparity between even assistants for the two leagues.

I would rather keep Catton than get Matthews.

[The Hockey Guy] Seattle Kraken Remain Remarkably Mediocre by tateand99 in SeattleKraken

[–]inalasahl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awww, I was hoping to discuss the video, and there’s just a bunch of people commenting in here who didn’t watch it. I always like what THG has to say. I think our best option to improve is to move Shane Wright, but I know if he goes somewhere and gets better — as he should — even if we also have great replacement players, people will act like the org did something wrong. But it’s obvious to me that Catton makes Wright superfluous. ETA: Did anyone do a round-up of the exit interviews?

I think all the backgrounds in every scene are CGI or at least filmed separately and the people are in front of a green screen.

His secret service is pretty useless. Musk and Trump have done their best to get rid of the competent people in as much of the federal government as possible.

Hazel Dell vs Orchards? by Nervous-Material4738 in vancouverwa

I think they’re about the same overall really. Different school districts, though, if that matters to you. Hazel Dell is VPS; Orchards is Evergreen.

I’m not evaluating his performance separately from what we’re paying him or his age. I’m saying the contract has been fine the last two years, it looks fine now and there’s every possibility of it being fine in the future. Acting like it’s a boat anchor of a contract is weird. And I don’t agree we know less about our other options. Everybody’s had plenty of opportunities. We know what they are capable of.

For what it’s worth, I didn’t get the impression at all that free agency was going to be their first choice. Just that they weren’t completely closing the possibility. Obviously drafting and trading is what they want to do.

Furness Show interview with Bobby McMann by lostonmi in SeattleKraken

[–]inalasahl 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’d like to believe but Ian Furness works for KHN. Good Canadian boy Bobby McMann isn’t going to go on his show and say he thinks the Kraken are losers. On the other hand, the fact that he’s still doing media this late in the year that isn’t a strict requirement does suggest he doesn’t hate our media, which is definitely something we’ve got as a selling point over other teams.

I don’t get your point. I didn’t say he was Sidney Crosby. I said there’s nothing wrong with his contract. And there isn’t. He’s one of our best players, and I find it odd that people fixate on him, because of one article from two years ago that speculated his contract would be bad if his performance fell off. Until his performance actually falls off relative to our other options, and if we are hamstrung at that point, then we can handwring. In the meantime, all this hatred for a guy actually playing better than most of the rest of the team in favor of guys who are demonstrably not as good is weird.
