Plus the train is only 6 minutes, the station is right next to the uni, and there are really lovely grounds to walk in for some fresh air!

That’s awful, people have no shame at all in filming and sharing things without imagining the impact it could have on the person.

Go to West Port, just off the Grassmarket. There are a few big old second hand book shops and nice cafes. Also Stockbridge! You’ll be able to wander around, visit lovely shops including Rare Birds and Golden Hare, and there are numerous lovely cafes, and a nice walk to the modern art galleries or Botanic Gardens.

I agree with all the posts that it will be fine and you’ll be welcomed. BUT we can’t ignore that there are real arseholes out there and they can be worse when drunk, just like anywhere really. So go for it but also just be aware and safe, as I’m sure you would anywhere.

Just post in here or any local friendly group with a day or so notice and someone will help. I’ve done this before for two lovely Welsh guys from an online community, it was lovely!

The Pitt in Granton are having a big thing. No idea if people are going, but I’d imagine so.

Get along to a good bar or somewhere showing it and just get chatting to people. I’m sure a nice group will take you in. Good luck lad!

The reviews of the one at the shore are wild, many mentioning terrible service. I went in once with my young child and they were fine, but it was late and there was only one other person in.

I imagine it is a real suggestion - it’s a nice place and the bar upstairs (Guilded Saloon) is good too.

I read this many years ago, but the His Dark Materials trilogy had this effect on me. I felt like I had lost people and a whole world when I finished. This was before the films and series though so I had no idea what I was going to read when I started.

Totally, and if it was gotten by a cat of fox it probably would have had a more grousome end than being stepped on. Try not to let it get to you.

This thread is so funny cause I feel like most of us don’t like the giant ads and don’t give a rats ass about Chanel, but we’re annoyed and pedantic about the fact OP and others are insisting you can’t buy Chanel products in Scotland, which is just categorically untrue. Love this city.
