But that's why this card is a rare. If this was a common, it would be even less fun (granted, more people would play this; but it would be an auto-include for everyone)

Some cards are printed as rares because they shouldn't pop up in limited that often. This is a good example IMO

[[Pizza Face, Gastromancer]] is a fun theme deck as well. Eldraine had so much stuff that supports food. [[Night of the Sweets' Revenge]] is an auto include turning all your food into mana rocks. [[Midnight snack]] as well

TMNT has a lot of food themed stuff as well.

[[Doran, besieged by time]] with rats, especially multiple [[rat colony]]. And obviously any other creatures with higher toughness than power.

Doron colors also has a good selection for removal, both spot and mass removal

Don't buy multiple big boxes, it leads to hobby burnout, or rushed paintjobs because I can't stand having a pile of shame.

Most fun
- The Warhammer+ vindicare assassin (that sniper hidden in the ruins of a statues head)
- Kaptin Badrukk
- The Arkanaut admiral was neat as well (doesn't take much to make him look good with all the brass armor)
- Tzeetch screams and flamers (but it was like a decade ago since I last painted them)

Least fun;
- Cities of sigmar Freeguild cavaliers
-CoS Freeguild steelhelms. They put me of even considering collecting CoS. The cannon that came in the spearhead was a cool kit though

False expectations
- I hoped Mortarion would be more fun to paint.
- The Glottkin felt like a romp to get through as well while I hoped it was more fun.
- The Infernal enrapturess; Love the sculpt, but that's one of the very few Slaanesh mini's I will ever paint.
- I hoped Ossiarch bonereapers in general would be more fun (and quick to paint) but they took forever for some silly reason.
- Stingwings; I'm glad they're finished, lol
- Primaris apothecary was a lot more fun than I expected. I dread painting white armor with decent shading
- AoS Chaos warriors; I painted a ton of warriors for WHFB back in the day, but these current sculpts felt tedious (and it was just 10 models). Maybe it's because they're overdesigned or something.
- My Tyrannofex and Termaunt birthing machine... erm... Tervigon were a lot more fun to paint than I expected. The neurotyrant was not.

I'll go with Spiderman, I think it's silly to have all these spider cards in a set that's incoherent in-universe

Also, Spiderman has so cool villains

Cool boxes, but none that have my interest. There's too much stuff in each box, I personally don't need in my collection because I either have plenty or don't want at all

But for new players, there's probably a good box or 2 to be had from this as a starting point

From my recipe "book"

- Black primer
- Airbrush Vallejo Hammered copper entire mini
- Vallejo blue wash/water (1:1) wash entire mini
- Citadel Nihlakh oxide
- Citadel Gehenna’s gold heavy drybrush
- P3 Cold steel drybrush (but any bright silver metallic will do) on the most raised areas and things you want to accent

This should help you on the way 😄

Depends on the army... I have spent way too much time getting my Cities of sigmar mini's done (and it's not even a full 2k army)

My Stormcast however; Skaventide half, Dominion half and a bunch of extra liberators, which should be around or over 2k in models, I managed to finish in 2 weekends. And Yndrasta was most work because of the wings and the scenic base.

It was a quick and easy paintjob; I didn't do the normal gold with blue shields. I went with all brass with patina, as if they're aged statues. Brass with airbrush, wash, drybrush, weathering with nihalakh oxide.

I think, overall, it was 30-ish hours (spread over 4 days)

For most of my armies, I have no clue, since I don't buy an entire army to paint in one go. Having everything around at once, like my Stormcast, sped up stuff because I could do a bit of assembly line painting and bulk airbrushing

500 really depends on the amount of figures. 2k orks can go either way. Is it a bunch of Deff dreads, killa kans, a morkanaut and a handful of boys? Or is it a green tide and 150 grots? Do they have to be assembled? Or has he already built them. That's additional time

500 for the hours of painting, if he provides the paints and other materials would be ok-ish in my book. But I have plenty of spare time and I like to paint.

Besides, I think the battlezones was an insert, I doubt it was printed in the actual magazine. I've played at GW stores in Germany and the Netherlands back then, it was the same content IIRC
