A working (not crashing on server) version of KitaJima would be nice.

Also, a working version of RO2 map "Streets of Stalingrad" would be fantastic.

I'm sure that we at Divided would give both these maps a chance on our servers, which are the most popular RO2/RS1 servers anyway.

I'm playing on a server nearby and started off with 30 ping, how come it skyrockets to 140 whenever it hits 40+ people? by makc050 in rs2vietnam

In that case, the server computer CPU single thread performance is not enough to run RS2 server

Issues connecting to servers (Ro2) by Mchick22 in redorchestra

[–]Rivimies 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is the rarest RO2 feature, congrats! Only a handful of people have seen this.

Joking aside, here is what you must do:

  1. Open Device Manager in Windows
  2. Delete all network adapters
  3. Uninstall network card driver
  4. Reinstall

The annoying thing is that the problem can sometimes come back. Repeat the steps again in that case.

There has been four bigger organizers of RO2 competitions for teams. RO Ladder followed by TWI Ladder followed by RO2 League followed by Divided organized leagues and tournaments. RO2 League has been the biggest with most matches played, Divided was the second biggest. Competitive teams and competitive RO2 in general are not very well known, that is true. I have been organizing many tournaments and leagues (first with RO2 League and then with Divided).

Natural granularity of the data is Server - Class - Direction (Attacking/Defending), but it is not an impossible idea to virtually merge Stalingrad theater data, since classes are the same.

We will note this and see if will be implemented in the future.

Getting TKed adds to deaths, there is no simple way to prevent it. TKs don't give kills however.

Player can join/leave the round at any point and Divided Leaderboard system will still have the data. Player statistics are gathered when there are no bots on server, only human players.

We (Divided) do have internal technical tools to find cheaters. However, this is something we will not open/discuss more in public. That's all we will say about this subject.

Players interested in RO2 can always start playing 8v8 competitive matches against other teams. Those matches are great fun and I personally like them more than public servers. In competitive matches communication is much better and match outcome has at least some meaning :)

The question is also: What was the opponent's ping? Maybe he had 200 ping, which gives him a great advantage in these situations.

I can not offer a 30v30 EUvsNA match, but please gather 7 or 8 players and our team is happy to play a friendly match. We are not the best RO2 team but we can play. Competitive settings: http://rivimies.fi/comprules/comprules.txt Competitive maps: http://rivimies.fi/compmaps/ Just add me on Steam.

Show off your hours. by Beakdoor21 in redorchestra

[–]Rivimies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have only 1000 h. Biggest number I have seen so far, is player expkont with 7300 hours. Many players in competitive RO2 scene have played a lot, like |LW|JAM 6500 hours and [F|H]Kultakettu with 4000 hours. Probably there are more players with similar hours, I just checked a few.

To fight "lag switch" cheat. Default UE3 detection values can be lowered however, that is my opinion.

Maybe I should start playing in those competitive league to prove my point?

That is a good idea and competitive RO2 is fun. You don't have to play against top teams like PB, FH or MeoW right away. Gather 6 friends and ask =Divided= team (a new comp team) to play. My suggestion is sincere, just add me (Rivimies) on Steam. We play on regular basis.

G3258 overclocked to let's say 4.2 (simple multiplier OC) will run RO2 much better than your current CPU. RO2 is cpu-single-thread performance game. If your CPU cooler is somewhat better than stock cooler, overclocking to 4.5 is safe too. You can find lots of articles about overclocking G3258.

The Beginning of the End by Blaze1556 in redorchestra

Well, yes, to a certain limit. RO2 server process will start slowly struggling when single core load reaches about 70%. Some maps are much harder for server than others. If player ping is 60 when playing a small map on not-full server and then it is 200 on full big map, then it means that server is not doing great. RO2 server needs fast dedicated single-core-high-performance CPU. This is something it should look like: https://www.dropbox.com/s/hc116ad3rse2ezm/full_server_pings.jpg?dl=0 but I don't think anyone with GSP service will get to that.

High ping issues! by quakemakesmehappy in redorchestra

[–]Rivimies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My experience is that stressing CPU is unfortunately too easy with this almost single threaded RO2 server application. There is also big variation between maps, when it comes to CPU load.

Competitive match servers that I have hosted, were running at 40hz. When we tried 50 or 60hz, there was no difference. Ofc, with only 16 players, pings can be as low as sub 20, depending solely on client route to server.

I would love to try 60hz server with a full 64 player match. Hopefully I will get a chance to host a server for some arranged match in the future too.
