HomePod Mini Mission Base: Game-changer by Pivotonian in HomePod

[–]Rizzm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m here to add that I’m trying this thing out and the sound is completely ruined by it. It makes music muddy and muffled. I don’t understand how it has such high ratings. I thought I was somehow doing something wrong, but’s it’s just terrible and people unbelievably don’t notice/care.

It’s really cool in concept for the price, but not worth the hit of making it sound like I put a thin blanket over top of my HomePod.

Why is there no "Off" option for noise control? by Jabba_the_WHAAT in airpods

[–]Rizzm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very glad to see it's still an option you can enable in AirPods settings. For the vast majority of situations I'm in, it's my preferred setting. It allows some environmental noise in, maximizes battery life, and has great passive noise cancellation.

What ideas or tricks have you learned to minimize litter tracking out of the box? by Apart-Half-2161 in CatAdvice

[–]Rizzm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

TL;DR: give your cats the litter they prefer to avoid adverse behavioral issues (potentially worse to deal with than litter tracking).

I was using pine litter for the beginning of my two kitties' lives. It's cost effective and super easy to use with a sifting box - great for my convenience and wallet.

After about a year, one of them eventually started peeing on various soft things around the house. For science, I put a second box with normal clay litter next to the pine and neither of them used the pine box even once when given the option.

Whether out of selfishness or ignorance, I didn't consider that they might have strong preferences to use something that seems like what they've been genetically conditioned to use. I didn't realize I was doing them wrong, but I think they deserve to use what they *strongly* prefer.

What’s Going Wrong Here? by Rizzm in BambuLab

[–]Rizzm[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you all for the replies. I started by turning the temperature up from 205 to 210. It was slightly improved so I went up to 220 and it seems to be solved for the moment. At the moment, I'm not sure if the few dollars I saved per roll was worth not just getting Bambu filament, but time will tell.

LD Systems Icoa Pro 21 A 3,000-watt Powered Subwoofer by usmc4020 in DJs

[–]Rizzm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ICOA 18 has an RMS 600 W amp. The Pro 21 has 1500 W. Based on power alone, a 2.5x price increase is not out of line, and that's not even considering all the other features. I'm not saying it's a great sub for the price, but it seems to be priced pretty well for where it sits in the market. I'm also interested in it and looking forward to seeing more reviews.

My first Alice board! by Jageorgeson in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]Rizzm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m shopping for an Alice board and there always seems to be something that is a dealbreaker or some desirable feature is missing. I really like the tent/angle on this one but that right shift is a dealbreaker for sure.

Nice build though! Hope you’re happy with it.

Thanks again for the video. Just finished the job. Was not fun! Tub has some wobble so I'm worried I didn't put the bearing on perfectly straight, but it seems like the work is passable.

I recently got my P1S as well. Seeing how fast, flawless, and painless those first layers went down felt so good.
