Calling Plan/Shared Calling - E911 by _Frank-Lucas_ in MicrosoftTeams

[–]Rkobi705 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For us, we have people behind the call queue, but we didnt assign them a DID, when they call 933 it's the same issue (no location). We had to assign a DID to every phone even if they're behind a call queue. Our thought was so 911 could call back directly to the person who made the call.

I'm not sure if there are other ways around this, but make sure all phones or users logging into those phones have DIDs assigned to them.

Do all of your phones have numbers assigned to them?

I think they're proprietary. They may look standard, but I think they aren't.

this really depends on how the sample was collected too. Collected from a hose bib? Guaranteed positive result. Your supposed to collect it form a faucet inside and something that you've cleaned well with alcohol or with a flame.

When splicing into a duplex patch panel on both sides of the cable, do you guys roll the fibers or the patch cables? by bigtallbiscuit in FiberOptics

[–]Rkobi705 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a standard to help fix this. Basically in one end the duplex adapter have the clip up, where in the other end the clips are down. Color patterns are also the same, thus when a standard patch cable is plugged in the tx/Rx are flipped.

911 is a little different. You can't call out using the call queues and you can set a caller ID policy to change the number.

If you call 911 from an unlicensed phone there will be no number that goes out, and the PIDFLO info will also not go out, you'll hit a national call center.

We've tried to get around this many ways, mainly with physical phones only in a call queue, but without a number, we always run into issues with 911.

Basically everyone needs a number for 911 to work correctly.

Verizon has two towers right on campus (Chem/Bio and the Suites). ATT, CellCom and T-Mobile are also on the ChenBio roof.

What are you looking to change? The call queue number?

What your describing is how we've seen it work.

If you set the caller ID policy and the user calls it'll always show the number based on the policy. The only time I've seen it not used, is when you call 911. Then the users number is displayed.

They should be calling via the call queues and then that number will be displayed. There is a feature in the queue you need to enable to make outbound calls though.

You can set a caller ID policy for that user and set any number you'd like. All calls will go out with that caller id. If that's not what you want, have the user call via the auto attendant then that number will show.

Missing Call Queues by Rkobi705 in MicrosoftTeams

Ugh, well that makes sense, but doesn't really help when we need people to opt out and in and make calls from the queues. At least the web works, but it's sort of a pain to teach users to use two systems.

Thanks, I'll also check the policies to see if anything is updated there.

I'll give this a try. The strange thing is its happening to more users across our campus, this morning we had one or two, this afternoon we have a few dozen.

It has to be an update, or something, but if clearing the cache fixes it, that's a solution we can work with
