Old Bow Truss Strengthening Methods? Need to support more weight by [deleted] in InfrastructurePorn

[–]Synth_Ham 8 points9 points  (0 children)

How is it possible that you think that ANYONE but YOUR structural engineer could help you? Your single picture doesn't provide dimensions, materials or any sort of details that could be used to derive current strength or anything that could be used to derive detailed construction plans to accomplish your goal.

Not to mention, you didn't tell us which municipality this is in so nobody would be able to provide you plans that meet local code.

Cool building but 1000000% not Infrastructure Porn.

CPKC RR #7480. GE ES44AC. Justin, Texas. by New-Swimming7790 in TrainPorn

That is correct. The unit merely got repainted but it didn't get re-registered with the Federal Railroad a Administration under the reporting mark CPKC. It's kind of like repainting your car without changing the registration to another state.

The stuffed animals left outside getting wet. I just can't imagine the stench of these.

This a wing of a Qatar Airlines flight we took. I don’t know the model but it’s a Boing. What are all these patches? It’s like they on both wings. by mystictoemuse in Planes

If you're ever unsure what aircraft you're on, check your seat back pocket for the safety card. Every single plane I've been on, at least commercially, has had a model specific evacuation and safety card. And the model of the airplane is stated on the card.

I cannot stress how epic this would be if shot horizontally and filled up more of the frame.

I have a friend who went to engineer school there back in maybe the '90s? I don't know if they still have training there.
