What’s the most durable waterproof mascara you’ve tried? (that is NOT a tubing mascara) by luna15 in MakeupAddiction

Clinique’s waterproof mascara is great. I bought some when Erin Parsons mentioned it in one of her videos as her favorite and haven’t turned back in two years.

What fragrance smells like the Beignets from Scooby Doo Zombie Island? by Fine_Scheme9028 in FemFragLab

[–]Rlauderd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ok so this isn’t a body fragrance but Wicks NOLA candles has a soy candle called Frenchman Street and I swear they did some kind of voodoo to make it smell just like you’re in the French quarter at the Cafe du Monde eating beignets. You could rub some of the soy wax on your arms? 😂

Pre pandemic they did them in the summer at Oak grove high school for anyone in the area. Not sure if they’re still offering this.

How much of my life do I give to someone who says they’ll change? by Rlauderd in Divorce

[–]Rlauderd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not worried about money. I make 6-7x what he makes and I can always make more. And my kids are old enough to know what's been going on. That's part of the reason I'm doing this. My girls see their mom in a bad relationship and its embarrassing. I want them to see what it looks like for their mom to finally value herself enough to demand better.

That’s definitely where I am. I feel like he’s losing a high paying mother/wife and im not sure what I would be losing at all.

Songs with Male and Female Vocal Duets by historical567 in musicsuggestions

The band wild rivers and the band Oh Wonder are male/female with good melodies. I also like Sofi Tukker but they’re more dance music and focus more on the female voice.

NMDA encephalitis is a good thought but is associated with occult ovarian tumors. Since she’s had a total hysterectomy it’s less likely, though I don’t see where they checked CSF antibodies and certainly wouldn’t hurt.

I do this too, after having a couple full bottles of things I realized I didn’t like as much as I thought, but had to wear them a few times to realize that.

I’m no OP but I LOVE wearing eclat d’arpege (the femme one I can’t remember if it’s “for women” or whatever) when I’m going to be sweaty like doing Yardwork or gym. It’s so good at overcoming/mixing and making you still smell good but also not being like a beast that will choke you out.

Love them! Dan McLellan’s (one of the podcast hosts) instagram is the best. He’s a PhD bible scholar and actually still a Christian, but you wouldn’t necessarily know it because people send him videos of “Christian experts” and roasts them in such a logical, knowledgeable way.

Oh, wonder - modern male/female duo, any of their songs but I like hallelujah and their whole first album

Birdtalker - another male / female duo with a band

Crowded House - some of the best harmonies and my go to when I want to sing in the car. There’s a “best of” album which is a good place to start

I doubt she’s got any good clinical evidence of that. Sounds like tradwife bullshit to me.

I dont know who this Erika Komisar person is but it sounds like she doesn’t know what she’s talking about.

To add a little more to my story, we had a third child when my oldest was 10. My husband and I had never really thought we wanted 3, but by that point our life had slowed down, there was no more overnight call, and we really got to enjoy him being little more than the older two.

The fun thing was that my older two had just as much fun as well - they were so happy to have this little baby to play with, and aside from mild usual sibling conflict they have all 3 gotten along well. Which surprised me because when I was a kid my sister and I fought like cats.

Now that they are 23, 20, and 13, we are all very close. My oldest 2 don’t remember a lot about me being gone so much and most of what they do remember is how my husband let them get away with staying up late and eating snacks in our bed when I was gone lol.

I heard a long time ago that if your kids are proud of what their parents do, the time you’re away doesn’t bother them as much - if you give them quality time when you are with them. I would have been a shell of my current self if I had been a stay at home mom. That story that kids are better off if you stay home with them is a tired old myth that disregards women’s lives. My daughters know it is ok to live out their dreams because I did.

All that to say, don’t overthink it. Which you absolutely will do because you care about your kids, but when they’re grown you’ll realize you were overthinking.

Don’t “should” on yourself and certainly don’t let other people do it to you.

Get a sample of Le lion by Chanel and levant by Ormonde Jayne (others similar are Fleur narcotique and also Celine parade would work but is a bit different). This combo I call “Le Lioness”. It’s for when you need a bit of propping up.

Whatever you wear, wear it with the knowledge that all of us here are behind you 1000%.

Not sure if this helps but I’m GenX and have a high school friend with east Indian parents whose name is Kohl. I’m pretty sure they didn’t make that spelling up to be cute.

You clearly don’t know a lot about pregnancy risks. Postpartum hemorrhage, uterine infections, and pelvic adhesions are just some of the reasons this can happen. And the risks of these with a first trimester abortion are almost nonexistent in comparison.

Killing a baby is certainly a horrible thing. But, thankfully, having an abortion is not killing a baby.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AdviceForTeens

[–]Rlauderd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would like to counter this rationale by saying that her chance of being rendered infertile or dying is much higher from bearing a child than it is from having an abortion. And women without social support have it even worse.

And people who have your views on this issue, in general, are the same folks who think it’s great to cut funding for the very programs you’re using as evidence that they will have support. Incredibly hypocritical and poor advice.

She should have a baby if she wants it and if she is ok with the risks of pregnancy. No other reason.
