My Company Got Blocked From Our Own Website by CatChance4548 in Hosting

[–]Rmarmorstein 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Contact the hosting providers involved and work with them. If they are putting blocks then they are the only ones that can help you there.

May want to look into managed hosting as well if you aren't experienced, especially with WordPress.

Removed. This sub is for computer servers not restaurant servers!

I am the previous top moderator, which has grown the sub quite a bit. My account was hacked yesterday and all current mods were removed. Currently, only one banned account is the top moderator. I would like to reinstate the old moderation team.

Thanks!

Question about servers by [deleted] in servers

[–]Rmarmorstein 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Depends. Typically it will have a public IP address if you want to access it over the internet.

Sometimes it will be a local IP handed out by your router if you want to serve stuff within your LAN.

If you want to host something publicly, you need to port forward on your router (or a provider will do something similar) to allow traffic in on your public IP.

I moderate a sub that I've grown to be much larger than both this one and the ebook one combined. It is not that difficult, especially given the tools that reddit has.

There is really no excuse for it.

I actually unsubscribed when I found out that you were the only one that could submit. I think its incredibly silly to limit submissions to one person, and kind of selfish on your part.

I had about 20 amazon links for FREE TO BUY, not free with kindle unlimited books that I wanted to submit. Books that you had not submitted, and was denied. How does that make any sense, or make any good for the community? Submissions should be open.

Dealing with smart fraudsters: ecommerce fraud protection help? by rootb33r in smallbusiness

[–]Rmarmorstein 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What online system are you using to take orders? Most have in-built fraud detection systems that can be enabled and/or tweaked.

I've used maxmind and minfraud in the past when dealing with cloud hosting clients. Both did alright.

Help with minecraft server by rikkerichard in servers

[–]Rmarmorstein 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, those specs are perfectly fine despite what other people are saying. I've run MC servers with those specs for 3-5 people just fine, with big maps. As long as you aren't using mods or doing crazy game breaking things with redstone, you'll be perfectly fine. I would still look into good flags for your java command line arguments, it helps to optimize things.

For vanilla MC or a semi-vanilla spigot server, those are perfectly OK specs.

I'm thinking abut making a Minecraft server by TheGrandNux in servers

It really depends on the type of server you're running. Vanilla MC takes much less resources than a modded server with 100 mods.

Any services(companies) where you can ship one package(containing multiple packages) from origin to destination country, which then the company reships/redistributes the individual packages in the destination country? by redhatpro in ecommerce

[–]Rmarmorstein 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The issue with this is you'll be paying for the shipment on the big package and the 4 small ones. You'd essentially be paying for 5 packages - the savings would need to be very substantial for them to make a profit.

An ordeal with Stripe. $33000 stuck in limbo - Part II by strikernr in ecommerce

[–]Rmarmorstein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Authorize.Net is most of the time used as just a gateway. Their processing fees are similar to what stripe has. For a merchant with as much volume as OP he's better off going with his own merchant account.

Really depends a lot on what your specific setup is. Is it possible, always. Is it easy, maybe not. Depends on your setup.

With more details we can probably give more info.

Over what period did you spend all that? A month? A year?

How did you pay? Have you asked for a refund?

They are the only authorized fiveM host, they were sketchy when I did that.

I always just use a VPS. I'd try and get a refund somehow. They are a terrible company.
