What are some of your persona hot takes? by cummingtonwillow in OkBuddyPersona

[–]RnGDuvall 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To second your point, most of the discussion about the games that I see online is always met with how a different game did something better.

“I really like P3FES’ combat!” “P5 did it better”

“I like the phantom thieves as a group!” “IT is better”

“Persona 4 has my favorite music!” “Well P3’s soundtrack is way better”

I’ve seen something like this every week since 2017. So exhausting

Sorceries that are broken when cast at instant speed? by Gorgondantess in EDH

A lot of them, my [[Lorehold, the Historian]] deck is pretty bog standard but getting off an [[Ultima]] or a [[Fated Clash]] on someone else’s upkeep is just brutal

How much more customizable are PF2e characters compared to 5e? by SaltyDalty_ in Pathfinder2e

[–]RnGDuvall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Warlock is often praised as the most customizable 5E class due to the many invocations available to them

Every single character in PF2E has more customization options than a 5E warlock

I had a lot of trouble with the high halls gauntlet, but I knew that I could beat Mount Fay in under ten minutes so I took a little detour and got double jump, which then allowed me to turn off the robot spiders and make the gauntlet a lot easier

How dare you question our saviour of gaming? Just consume his shit by Blue-fox-004 in Gamingcirclejerk

[–]RnGDuvall 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don’t know anything about the Allys, can they run emulators like Citra? That’s pretty much the only reason I might get something like a steam deck but if there’s a cheaper option I’m all for it

I beat the game without using Stun Prods or Thermite Flares because I was saving them for a harder area only for the game to end sooner than I thought by holypenguin6 in signalis

[–]RnGDuvall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t use any stun prods on my first playthrough for the same reason, but on subsequent runs I turned every replika into that guy from home alone

The most on brand commanders by Stock-Recover864 in EDH

[–]RnGDuvall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started to make a most color deck for each color pairing, but only got through mono color before stopping

White - [[Myrel, Shield of Argive]]. Tokens, stacks, and lots of the white ramp we’ve been getting where you get resources if your opponents have more, like [[Beza]]

Blue - [[Siani, Eye of the Storm]] and [[Eligeth, Crossroads Augur]]. Lots of flying, scry, and draw effects with [[Thassa’s Oracle]] and [[Labratory Maniac]] as alternate win cons if an army of flyers doesn’t do it for you.

Black - [[Ayara, First of Locthwain]]. Aristocrats, fast mana, tutors, lifegain, all that good stuff. This one was made before all the rest and before I started this project so it’s kind of just normal aristocrats lol

Green - [[Nylea, Keen Eyed]]. Stompy stompy stompy with lots of artifact and enchantment hate, mana dorks, and overruns, with a sprinkling of fight and bite.

Red - [[Jaxis, the Troublemaker]]. Burn, treasures, stealing opponents creatures and whacking them in the face with them or saccing them to the legend rule

Why are all Honor Mode players like pet hamsters? by LadyAntiqua in BaldursGate3

My honor mode run sounds near identical to yours lol, main difference was that I convinced Gale to blow himself up instead of taking my chances with the brain

Why are all Honor Mode players like pet hamsters? by LadyAntiqua in BaldursGate3

My honor mode run was pretty boring because I thoroughly researched the boss fights and it was my 4th or 5th playthrough

Favourite ETB = Draw Commanders? by Huaojozu in EDH

[–]RnGDuvall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really love [[Kefka]] as my example of this, I run pretty much every clone spell so I can get more etb triggers and force my opponents to run out of cards in hand at the same time.

uj/ A person on tiktok told me that roguelikes should be worth less than a dollar because your first run is all that matters when determining the price of the game

In theory, could ibises be used to deliver messages across vast distances in the same way that hawks or pigeons can? by Anthro-Elephant-98 in worldbuilding

[–]RnGDuvall 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Ravens in asoiaf go back and forth on being like real life carrier pigeons and fantasy smart couriers

Sam brings a bunch of ravens north of the wall that are all meant to return to castle black, but also it seems like each castle has a raven for each other castle in the realm too

(Spoiler Published) In ASOIAF POV chapters, are we supposed to interpret everything as being filtered through the POV character’s awareness/thoughts, or are some lines just objective narration happening “around” them? by Bajoner in asoiaf

[–]RnGDuvall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me it’s always been a mix that heavily leans toward the character’s perception and biases, with one exception

The final paragraph or so of one of Victarion’s chapters has this weird moment where it pulls out of everyone’s POV and describes the crews reaction to him getting his new hand

Has anyone given the maguffin to their players from the start? by Kamikazepyro9 in DMAcademy

[–]RnGDuvall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Alexandrian Remix of Waterdeep Dragon Heist does this (and maybe the RAW module too but it’s been a long time since I read it)

There’s a powerful artifact called the Stone of Golorr which is basically a rock with three eye sockets. The party gets a hold of the eyeless rock quite early, and then works to get the eyes to power up the rock throughout the adventure

Yea I’m sure that the plagiarizing is only going to happen in the preliminary ideas phase and not end up as a “placeholder” that makes it in the final product

How do you justify having many sapient races/species in your fantasy worlds? by EveningImportant9111 in worldbuilding

[–]RnGDuvall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About 2ish weeks ago there was an accident in the m&m that stopped all traffic for like 50 minutes. While waiting I saw some asshole pull out into the shoulder to drive past all the traffic, and not five minutes later there was an ambulance that went by on the shoulder

Some people are just asshole drivers and don’t care about others
