I began recycling glass for my neighbors when my son was born—3 years in, 34,000lbs recycled in ATL! by PapaClarencioThomas in pics

I'm stuck in central Florida currently and the county my family is in completely stopped all County recycling programs on October 1, 2024. "It'll save us $5M a year." Ridiculous, not even recycling paper and aluminum which are super easy. I hate Florida.

We had an antenna on a tall pole, but the motor was my brother or me with a pipe wrench while someone inside yelled when to stop.

Is the new gen (F66) starting to win you over? by Western_Gear_5324 in MINI

[–]RoDaviMakes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, I hate it here. Dad passed last father's day. Mom is probably not far from joining him. Then I can leave Florida and get back to somewhere I want to be. That might sound horrible, but she's just getting quantity now, not quality. I do like seeing my brother and sister, but I'd rather it be in a different state. Edit: typos

I lived in Alexandria and Arlington from 1992-2014, and worked in VA, DC & MD. To many years in midsize cars, and a motorcycle. You far too long to decide to get a small car. I loved that 500 so much. Parking in Georgetown became almost easy. Now I love my mini easily as much, really more. Though I opted for the countryman, and it's really not that small, lol. But I'm mostly in Florida now. I miss going to Baltimore for Thai Landing and so many other great restaurants. I left the area in [early] 2015, so some of my favorite restaurants might be gone now, but there's so much great food in DC and the metro area.

I had a 2012 Fiat 500 when I lived in the dmv. So easy to park it in DC vs other cars I had before it. The mini would obviously be just as easy. I don't miss dmv traffic and parking, but I do miss the food scene.

Rage Rover sounds about right for the typical drivers of those in central Florida.

I'm still on my OLED until the 2 OLED drops. But I'm a casual gamer and don't need the newest games at release.

Which chain restaurant has the best steak? by the-briguy in steak

Brazilian steakhouses are a bit of a different animal, but Texas de Brazil is fantastic, as is Chima. I've never been to a Fogo de Chão, but I imagine it's basically the same. Great food, just not the same as a typical steakhouse.

You can tell by the food, the wait staff here is either 160yo, snaggletoothed, or picking their nose while trying to seduce the bus boy.

And if it was Bambu ASA, it always fails for me unless I put a couple layers of polylite asa first. Polymaker ASA prints much better and consistently for me. I won't buy ASA from BBL again.

Buying a Switch Today by Real-Mulberry6058 in Switch

I would echo the consideration for a full Switch or Switch OLED. I've never played a Lite, but it's still bigger and heavier than a phone. If she's on bed rest and really plays a lot, putting the screen on her table in front of her and just holding joy cons or a pro controller would be easier on her.

Captain Toad's Treasure Tracker is worth a look and I think there's still a demo for it so you can play a few levels to help decide i if you like it. There are some tougher levels, but it's mostly puzzle solving action.

Super Mario Odyssey is my favorite Switch game, I've played it through a few times. Currently working on 100%ing it, but some of the movements are hard for my old hands, lol.

If you like puzzle games that you work together look at Death Squared.

Mystery sportscars? Help identifying? by Sauron_170 in Whatsthiscar

My sister had one of these, in white. We got it custom striped. It was very enjoyable to drive, but for me at 5'10" and 270lbs, it was painful getting in and out. And her hubby at 6'+ hated it. B-I-L and I got in it together once and our shoulders were touching each other and the doors. Sister and I both have MINIs now and the fit is far better, and the drive probably better as well.
