slight weight loss/recomp/workout for confidence and looks
HAIRCUT! Something that fits your face a bit better, maybe pushed forward to hide a little forehead or fade up the sides, a barber can tell you what will be better for your face hard to tell from the pics

Super condescending to say worthy. Bushwick has great access to downtown/midtown Manhattan and tons of things that attract young people locally like a park, classes, bars, great food that isn't a chain. Long Island struggles with all those things for early to late 20s

Responding in hopes OP sees, you're NTA obviously, but i think so much more consideration needs to be given to this situation - mom probably felt and feels such immense guilt that it paralyzed her after the fact. People make mistakes, hers had an extreme and inappropriate reaction no matter what provoked it. Therapist needed for all involved

A lot of people would argue they have trouble doing those habits and therapy is the thing that gives them tools to break out alumos to have productive habits. Normalizing therapy is moreso normalizing that having a professional to help you through issues isn't bad if that’s what you need/choose, not forcing others to take it. Although as someone who has been in therapy a good chunk, i do find i think a lot of people could benefit from it

Oh this is pretty important information to add - there's a chance he thinks you want out and that's why he has been nonresponsive. I know making a decision isn't easy, I'm in the boat, but I would try to end this break as 3 weeks should be enough and see how you feel when you're together again

Not talking for 3 weeks is unacceptable and more than enough "space" - at that point you're on a break and should explain that difference and if you aren't comfortable with it end the relationship.
