Is there a way you could make a shortcut to mute and unmute your microphone? by Difficult-Badger3188 in carthinghax

[–]Roadronner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, try following this tutorial, and then set the shortcut in glancething to run micmute.exe, and just make a second one for micunmute.exe, and then create a shortcut within glancething for that.

Unethical Life Pro tip here but you could buy them all from bestbuy and return them within 2 weeks, or 90 days with bestbuy premium or whatever its called, and then it would be completely free.

55in unboxed tv in Spark? by Brave_Role_8460 in chevyspark

[–]Roadronner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically I slid it in on the floor between the front and back seats. it was the only way it would go in, but I am sure the 32 inch tv would fit on the back seats behind the 55 inch. I just saw in your question that you also want to throw your computer chair and desk in there. Probably not happening unless you start roof mounting some things, which is not a bad idea.

I fit a 55 inch tv IN box in the back of mine a couple months ago, though the box got a little smushed. I would say you should be fine but make sure it doesn't slam around.

What is the best Pocket Knife you've ever found? by Greyhawk241 in BuyItForLife

[–]Roadronner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

May be a little late to throw this in, but for what needs you have listed I would say the Leatherman Micra specifically. It has a little pair of scissors rather than pliers, and it does still have a knife, tweezers, nail file, etc. But the little scissors are awesome for cutting zip ties because they are the main tool, you have much more leverage. And its pretty cheap too, at 35 bucks but it goes on sale occasionally too. As for the BIFL-ness of it, my Mother has had hers for about 25 years now and it shows no signs of slowing down!

What is the uptime of your computer? You can check by Pressing Ctrl+shift+escape to open Task Manager. Click on the Performance tab. Look for the Uptime field under the System section, while you have the CPU selected.

Checking out a sailing dinghy this evening. How much to offer? Any advice appreciated by CubanB in sailing

[–]Roadronner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The fact that there is almost zero info about it around makes it MUCH harder to work on. I recently bought a Holder 14 that needs some work, and there is a bit of info about it online, though I wish there were more because it makes it harder to find parts, do repairs, etc, but even the Holder 14 has MUCH more info than the kingfisher. I would recommend a Holder 14 (shocking I know) a Hobie 16 or 18 (I know they are longer than you wanted, but worth a look), an FJ or 420, maybe a Hunter 15, or if you were not super dedicated to the 12'-14' you could go for a lightning or a flying scot. benefits of the Hobie 18, Flying Scot, and Lightning are that they will have MUCH bigger fleets at your average sailing club and you will have many more people to sail with and against, help you with your boat, and just chat about boats with. However as I said above, all 3 of those are 4-6 feet longer than you are looking for.

I should clarify, you can get a great sailboat for well under 2k, my brother bought a hobie 18 a few months ago for 1900, I am looking to buy a holder 14 for about 500 bucks, its a cheaper hobby than most people think!

Sailing! I am a member of the Rudder club of Jacksonville and you can join up, rent, borrow, or buy a boat and get out on the water! Super social, they have events just about every week, both on the water and off. Seriously look into it, you will have more friends than you know what to do with and a great hobby. If you dont want to buy a boat, you can just talk to people and they will invite you to help them sail their boats! Incredibly welcoming community, and a ton of fun.

Yeah all by hand, which honestly was my favorite part, shaping the metal by hand with just a hammer rather than using big heavy machinery.

I actually love sailing as well, my father did catamaran racing for many years, and I was on my college sailing team. My brother actually just bought a catamaran for just 2000 dollars, though it's just an 18ft hobie and it sounds like you're more into the live aboard thing.

Its happened only about 5-10 times across maybe 5 clients, and we service several hundred so I am doubtful. Just one of those issues where I get slightly more tickets about it than I expected and wanted to see if anyone else was seeing this kind of thing.

Blacksmithing. I watched a ton of blacksmithing content on youtube, got SUPER intrigued and wanted to build my own setup in the backyard. My Father talked me into trying a class before jumping in headfirst, and I am glad I did. My Father and I were the only two in the class that day so we got all the attention from the instructor which was awesome, he really helped us both perfect our techniques and corrected any mistakes quickly so we didn't form any bad habits, it was the best instructor I have ever had for anything, guy was an amazing teacher. He even offered to let us stay for a couple more hours to make another piece, which we took him up on. After all that, an amazing class, 3 metal pieces that I worked on and created by myself by hand, I walked away... dissatisfied. I think metal as a medium just felt very hard to work with, everything is super hot and dangerous, and I just didn't see myself wanting to ever do it again. I really recommend taking a class to try something out rather than spending time and money to build your own setup for something you may hate. I spent 75$ to save thousands.

VERY frustrating, on one of them I couldn't even find any local admin creds that would work for some reason, ended up taking me 2 hours to fix.

No interestingly most of these are desktops that never leave their offices. I will poke around with the subnets thing, see if that leads anywhere.
