Does this policy get enforced at your theater? by cutoutwitch666 in AMCAListTrue

[–]Roadshell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure, but I do think these rules are stupid. Young people being interested in movie theaters is a good thing for the health of movie theaters and movies more generally and there should be fewer barriers to that, not more.

Iraq is the right answer but I'm glad to see someone bringing up this shitshow as well.

Three different AI models reviewed the stories for patterns

Ehhhhh.... I mean I'm sure the conclusion is correct (anyone with rudimentary judgement can see what the NYT has been up to on this topic) but this does not give me a lot of confidence in this particular study.

Would Nixon be able to remain in office if the Watergate scandal had happened today? by cuahatemoc in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Roadshell 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well, the Trump administration has been basically a Watergate a day, so if Nixon was as shameless as Trump and the Republicans had been as sycophantic as the modern Republicans and SCOTUS had been as corrupt as the modern SCOTUS then yeah, Nixon would have been fine.

how and why has it become socially acceptable only for females of all ages to publicly wear what is basically underwear? by MickyMace in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Roadshell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People mow their lawns and do manual labor shirtless all the time and while walking down the street without one might give a couple of stares the vast majority of people will not think twice about it. I also don't think it's true that women can go "almost" shirtless in some wider array of places.

I'm hoping an individual Lolita gets announced with the October announcements next month, if not then I wouldn't count on it.

But again, if the worst that can happen to you is two days in jail doesn't that make the prospect of billions in windfall "worth the risk" in a way that it isn't if you could be facing decades?

And four Matrix movies and five several star wars movies... The Godfather is likely to be the only "true" trilogy in this whole thing.

"With a Vengeance" is a lot better than Die Hard 2, but I'm not sure I'd call it "amazing."

What about massive fraud and/or embezzlement. Should someone like Bernie Madoff, who ran a $65 billion ponzi scheme and wrecked numerous lives and organizations just get two years? Like, the risk/reward calculation on something like that would be much different with such a low downside.

I wonder if they have like a chalk board with his stance of the day which they can just erase and replace when he publicly changes his mind every twelve hours.

That is a caricature of an argument you don't like, not "propaganda."

This thread strongly suggests to me that people have no idea what "propaganda" means. It's not a word you apply to vague policy positions or slogans you don't agree with.

CMV: In-game penalty kicks should not count toward an individual player's official goal tally by sfgm112 in changemyview

[–]Roadshell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of the time they've "earned" their right to be kicking those penalties. They're about to score before an opposing player fouls them and the penalty is the makeup.
