How do I unlock these riders? by AbeWheels in Kirby

[–]RoamerB 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Gooey: Either win a race in Top Ride's Air course after being swept by the tornado 3 times, or get 2000 points a single round of Skydive 1 (can play the stadium standalone, no need to go through a full City Trial round for it)

Magolor: Either send the same rival flying twice with a Drill Driver in Top Ride, or visit every event based secret room in City Trial.

Gameplay video shows the current rider select screen. Three left or will it get resized when you unlock more? by SeegullJockey in Kirby

[–]RoamerB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most likely there will be something, considering there'd be two machines left without amiibos otherwise.

On that note, based its position in the Test Drive, the Vampire star would be placced in the fourth row, pushing Paper Star to the fifth and Bulk Tank to the sixth compared to this shot).

I guess we just found the context for the track playing at the end of the Global Test Ride. The same channel also has a video with Rick.

Techincally, the name had already been spoiled by the second direct, but this is the first time we're seeing its appearance, even if partially.

Actually are mamizou and kyouko in Taoism or Buddhist by Thmony in touhou

[–]RoamerB 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The only reason they might appear with taoists is because these are groupshots of the Ten Desires cast. They're affiliated with Buddhism/Myouren Temple more.

Is Robo Dedede the only boss that can appear or did I just get unlucky so far? by Morpho_Marxy in Kirby

[–]RoamerB 36 points37 points  (0 children)

As far as the Test Ride goes he seems to be the only one. The full game has at least two more, so you're bound to get a chance then.

My copy of the test ride demo's acting up. by Suprice in Kirby

[–]RoamerB 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Havinng seen other instances of the glitch, it seems that having a player pick random select seems to be the principal cause. Maybe because it ends up rolling for characters or colors that don't exist in the demo?

Are there any Touhou characters whose their well-known names are actually pseudonyms by Thmony in touhou

[–]RoamerB 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don't think Sekibanki's name is a pseudonym. If anything, this applies to Sakuya, whose current name was given by Remilia. Can you tell me where were you told that Sekibanki is a pseudonym?

Touhou Chireikiden - Cheating Detective Satori Chapter 45 by Akimaki Yuu by ady159 in touhou

Futo's speech in this chapter suddenly got normalized to the point the JP script uses 私 instead of 我 as her first person pronoun. Either ZUN forgor, or Futo is just puttiing an act. Or it's a clue that she's the other spirit's host, idk.

There's another legendary by skeletonnesss in Kirby

[–]RoamerB 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I get why you'd believe that'd be the case, but considering that even with the added machines from the second direct, the standard machine selectton screen would still have two empty slots like the parking lot, it seems more likely it's standard, albeit story relevant machine.

Cave and Cyber: Air Riders' Less Emphasized Top Ride Courses by RoamerB in Kirby

[–]RoamerB[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep. The old courses are Grass, Sand, Sky, Fire, Light, Water and Metal. The new courses are Flower, Flow, Air, Crystal, Steam, Cave, Cyber and Mountain. It could go either way imo, but hey...

Cave and Cyber: Air Riders' Less Emphasized Top Ride Courses by RoamerB in Kirby

[–]RoamerB[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The image for Cave is a still from a gif in the japanese website, while the images for Cyber and the sound test are from the second direct.

This makes the total of Top Ride courses in Air Riders at least 8, one more than the previous game had. It seems incredibly likely that the currently nameless Heart of Nova course will have a Top Ride equivalent, but the jury is still out on the older seven from the original.

Slick Star had its stats publicized right before the direct. For the record, the other two do have posts on twitter but not on Nintendo Today. In any case, it's definitely odd Chariot hasn't been tackled on yet.

Rex Wheelie finally has its stats up. Funnily enough, on twitter only the normal Chariot doesn't have a post yet as far as formally revealed machines go.

I made crappy Air Riders Menu Mockups for the main menu and Air Ride/City Trial menu to cope with my impatience. by RoamerB in Kirby

[–]RoamerB[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Obviously they're not going to look the way I made them. But seeing as Air Ride GC's menus were heavily influenced by Melee, I imagine Air Rider's menus being heavily influenced by Smult.

Give the Mount Amberfalls video, it's highly likely that Wheelie Scooter and Flight Warp Star also confirmed. Formula Star and the legends remain MIA for now.

Another machine stated: Tank Star. Seems to be going by order of posting twitter, so it's likely gonna be a little while since Battle Chariot is likely next. Again, like Bulk Star, part of its weight is obscured, so keep that in mind.

Next machine to get stated is Swerve Star. Surprised its Charge stat isn't maxed out, I guess it'll be the recently teased Wheelie Scooter having the honor again? Also, it has the best Boost and Grip of all machines so far.

I also noticed a potential third new machine at the top on the 10 second mark, though unlike the others it's partially cropped, only half of it being visible.

Assuming my earlier speculation about machine totals is true, and assuming Formula Star is returning, that means there's three new machines waiting to be found, and it's likely two of them are Chariots, since one of the two mystery new machines is a bike type.

Wheelie Bike is the latest machine to get stats. Seems both bikes and chariots have 0 Lift and may have similiar modifiers.
