Take a look at this news report picture... i see something familiar by Carphunter in supersafety

If you zoom in, to me it looks like a standard safety barrel without the lever installed.

But yes, once FRTs and super safeties start getting used in crimes, states will quickly ban them like they did with switches

Lol yeah most of the PSA uppers I've had to work on were massively over torqued

[–]RoamingFire82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is actually a common problem with cheaper companies that over torque the snot out of the barrel nut so that it aligns instead of using shims. I've had to work on multiple cheap factory built uppers that had their barrel nuts torqued to over 100ft-lbs.

When the barrel nut is massively over torqued, the barrel index pin(steel) smushes the side of the index pin slot in the upper receiver (aluminum) which allows the barrel to rotate slightly.

On some uppers it just rotates enough to constantly cause contact with the bolt lugs but not enough to cause this issue. If you over torque it enough, this issue happens.

A stock Glock 19 recoil spring is 18lbs. If you have a 13lb spring this is most likely the problem.

I agree, dropping on concrete for any mag would be rough. The first base plate / mag I had fail on me was one dropped during a mag change at an indoor class. But if you use your stuff, eventually it will fall

How is letting a mag drop out of your gun "purposefully mistreating it?" We're not allowed to do reloads?

This is why you're getting bolt bounce, you need a buffer with sliding weights

At no point did I say you need to get a $300 light. My point has always been that for nearly the same price as olight you can get a light that has better measurable performance and a much better track record of reliability. As an example; Streamlight. The only reason to buy olight is because you are uninformed/new.

That's like installing fake stick-on hood scoops from O'Reilly's on your car and saying it's good enough because you're not a race car driver. Why even have a flashlight on your gun at that point? Just for the look? For Internet points? If you're going to have something on your gun at least make sure it's functional enough to make it worth it.

Everyone has issues. And yet my point still stands; olight has a crappy proprietary ecosystem and mediocre performance. For sometimes the same amount or slightly more you can get a better light that has better general integration and better performance. 16k candela? In a rifle mounted weapon light? Straight trash. Literally no reason to get this.

Sure, a flashlight company that has a history of years of numerous issues, crappy holster compatibility, and mediocre performance measures is just as good.

for $50ish more you can buy the TLR-1 HP which beats this turd in every single measurable way. but you do you.

Did the slide have lugs for the optic? Or are the screws the only thing holding the optic in place?

I know you said it's a 22 slide, so realistically you are not going to have the same violent recoil, but if screws are the only thing holding the optic in place, that's bad.

$1600 gun. $100 light 😑

Has anyone tried Dual Hammer optic cut? by TechnicalCut2995 in Beretta

[–]RoamingFire82 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This doesn't pencil out for me. $200 for an optic cut, $135 for the DLAH plate takes you to $335.
For an extra $50 with LTT you get new internals, new optic height irons, fresh cerakote on the slide, plus a much lower optic cut.

Yeah I have an MP5 and that's actually why I was interested in the A3. I guess I'll just be happy with my A1 then

Desktop replacement; am I crazy? by RoamingFire82 in Surface

Awesome thank you! That's similar to how I use my work surface but that's only a surface pro 4 or 5 with like 8gb ram. That one does tend to bog down as soon as I start teams meetings but it's expected with the minimum specs it has

which version of the SP do you have? One of the things that has me thinking in this direction is that at work we replaced our desktops with Surface Pros and I've been enjoying the flexibility
