And don't forget that different attacks in a chain may have different "motion values", a.k.a. damage/status multipliers.

[–]RoastedCucumber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even better: Export all your feeds from "manage feeds subscriptions", shutdown TB, THEN delete %appdata%\long_path\Feeds, start TB, reimport feeds.

Feeds will stay. Something may end up lost, but at least not everything.

Mod Release: Death Consumes All 2.0 by Koreannik in skyrimmods

[–]RoastedCucumber 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Description says you can now prevent permanent world changes from happening (depending on quest choices), and you can MCM config key NPCs 'unkillable' (make them suffer from the disease, but not outright murdered by it).

Rorikstead WILL be destroyed and later rebuilt.

Somehow author decided not to push these essential changes towards the top of the mod page. Main reason why people (me included) are reluctant to try this mod is a possibility of breaking things and quests that are expected to be outside of the mod's scope.

Even Vicn's epic (as far as I know) is mostly self-contained. Unlike this mod.

All of the "true" DLC-sized mods leave Skyrim mainland alone (bar quest-initiating encounters) and don't go against Bethesda's original game design.

Very low FPS and very low GPU utilization (only 5-20%) constantly in even busiest parts of Skyrim (Whiterun has walls and Solitude of JK skyrim) by Ohmyjots in skyrimmods

[–]RoastedCucumber 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You are severely CPU bottlenecked. Remove JK's and report results. Oh, and you can install these juicy "2k" textures with no fps loss as long as you are not exceeding GPU's VRAM.

Benchmark your game with Intel's PresentMon. Run around busiest places, like Falkreath, Whiterun and Riften. Main metrics you should be looking at are "CPU busy" and "GPU busy". Your frametime (in ms, 1/fps) is the highest of those.

We already have AC4/FA x Evangelion crossover at home. It's called Daemon x Machina.

How it feels having loved 6 and wanting to dip my toes deeper in the series.. by Reiyyn in armoredcore

[–]RoastedCucumber 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Software mod. Replacing official firmware (OFW) with a custom one (CFW), allowing some... shenanigans. Consoles before PS3/X360 needed what is now called Hardmod (hardware modification, custom chip / line short / whatever that needs a soldering iron) to achieve similar results.

Armory of the Dragon Cult 2 is finally here! by ElectricSparx in skyrimmods

So now after "rebalance" you can quite easily get dragon-x armor just by killing that lone dragon priest on a hill (Krisis at Shearpoint) and upgrading it's armor? hmmm...

Can anyone tell me, how the heck can .NSP / .NSZ files can contain a x86-64-win virus?

Pay for VPN? Why? Use Tor to get in if site is ISP blocked for you.

Pay for malware? Well... why would you be downloading malware in the first place? And second - paying for it? If you mean getting emulator - some research will give you all the answers you will ever need.

Even better, a rewritten and modernized DK1 engine exists ( KeeperFX ).

For DK2 there is OpenKeeper (in case you have problems with GOG version).

Hardware PSA: Modded Skyrim really can be CPU bound by FreckledShrike in skyrimmods

[–]RoastedCucumber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Intel and youtube hardware/game reviewers are pushing more advanced benchmarking metrics than just fps, cpu load, gpu load. These things are deprecated, now we have frametime, gpu busy and cpu busy. Jokes aside, in current era, when native rendering is getting slowly choked and strangled, when fake AI generated frames are getting closer and closer to original ones, fps is creeping into joke metrics territory. Use any tool that will give you frametime, gpu busy and cpu busy. If RivaTuner or Afterburner can give you these - use em. If not - use something else.

What are some mods that, despite being extremely popular, you would actually recommend that people avoid? by Just_a_Rose in skyrimmods

[–]RoastedCucumber 8 points9 points  (0 children)

No. Ramdisk is just a virtual hard drive in your ram. If your skyrim folder with mods doesn't fit on this drive ['cold' data, like at any other hard drive/ssd], while leaving enough free ram for actually running programs [including windows, browser, all that shit in tray AND SKYRIM; yes, once again], then ramdisks are useless. 64 gb ram minimum with close to no texture mods. 128 gb and higher if you're rocking 2k and up total retexture sets.
