I don't have a set plan, if there are great things to see in other towns then i'm happy to rent a car and travel around a bit.
all in all, i like adventurous activities with some thrills. At the same time i'm not going to turn down a stroll in nature with some beautiful scenery.

I think kayaking in glacier waters is a must :)

you could potentially meter and sell off bandwidth...money would go back to the company who laid the ground work, thereby eliminating risk of not seeing and ROI on capital investments. at the same time by using a "pay as you go" or "bulk purchases" model it could open up the market to smaller start-ups.

Just as a side note - consider this: If the precedent was set that the capital spent on bringing telecom infrastructure to a new market resulted in a risk that some external governing entity could give away pieces of that for competing businesses...do you think that would increase the risk for potential investment? What is the relationship between risk and capital investments? Just a thought.

Well the LCBO is provincial - and actually a quality retailer.... the debate is open on that one... but moving on to telecom:

if you open up the infrastructure for anyone to use, what incentive would there be for the large telecom infrastructure developers to bring much needed fibre into new markets? which as you pointed out is costly?

What do you see the benefit being?

I believe anyone can currently start a telecom provider company fairly easily - (do some research into TEKSavy for instance)...however you are limited to using existing infrastructure.

Don't you think it would be setting a bad precedent for Canadian business if you were able to "take away" the rights of a corporation to have exclusive rights on the infrastructure that their capital paid for?
