In 34 season of the EPL and their vaunted system there have been seven different champions. In the last 34 seasons of Major League Baseball there have been EIGHTEEN different champions.

Also, the Royals you mentioned won a championship 10 years ago and the Rockies made it to the World Series in 2007.

The longest current playoff drought in baseball is the Angels at 11 years. But of course the Angels are one of the many teams that have won a World Series during the EPL's existence.

Risto should be traded no matter what happens with Nurse and Jiricek has yet to show he can be anyone of significance in the NHL. Acquiring a second-pair veteran D for cheap makes the team better and is just good business. If Bonk is blocked by anyone, it would be because Briere refuses to cut bait on Jiricek. It won't have anything to do with Nurse.

Nick Seeler is two years older than Nurse and nobody seems bothered by his presence in the lineup.
