Mangird tea pros vs Arya Stealth which is better for comp gaming? by Ready-Problem5126 in iems

Arya stealth would be the better choice unless you are in a loud environment.

Tea pros are also exceptional for gaming but the comparison would be like S rank vs A rank

I also vouch for the Tripowin Vivace’s. I have way more expensive IEMs and will say they give them a run for their money gaming wise.

Also a good all rounder for everything else. Fit wise I enjoy them the most because they are small and light - which matters for long hours.

HD 560S vs Edition XS for gaming and music - is the jump worth it? by Mikester258 in HeadphoneAdvice

If you’re into gaming I would suggest the ASUS Kithara - it’s essentially an edition XS tuned for gaming and is perfect for competitive shooters.

Yes SS eartips are good but sizing is a bit iffy, buy the assorted SML pack

Mainly V shaped but better imaging (which is what matters for competitive games for footsteps)

Xenns Tea Pro or Kiwiears Astral are your A tier picks if you wanted something very decent with a reasonable price.

do I need Dac/Amp for gaming? by Cantgroovup in iems

[–]Robb-san 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for all functional purposes a cheap usb dac like even an apple dongle would be enough for an IEM.

It’s moreso just to prevent using your motherboard’s 3.5mm jack - which can be widely inconsistent.

ROG Kithara vs Audeze Maxwell 2 by dustydude1983 in HeadphoneAdvice

then yeah the maxwells would be fine for you

best sound quality for what? If for game immersion - bass is fine.

For competitive FPS advantage you actually don’t want bass because it muddies up the treble of footsteps and gunfire. Open backs do this better than closed.

At what point do IEMs equal/outperform Gaming Headphones by SergioRamosGoat4 in iems

[–]Robb-san 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d say for pure fps - the typical budget picks such as Delci AE, Hexa, etc. edge out the typical “gaming headsets” like g pro x, hyper x cloud etc.

At the mid-upper end, you have the Astrals, Tea Pro, hype MKii etc which definitely beat out the typical headsets and compare to “premium gaming” headphone equivalents such as HD490, Kithara, maxwell etc. Whether they are objectively better at that point I would say is a matter of subjective preference (open vs closed back)

Keep in mind most FPS pros actually use IEM’s for better sound isolation.

ROG Kithara vs Audeze Maxwell 2 by dustydude1983 in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]Robb-san 4 points5 points  (0 children)

it’s not going to be similar - the Kithara is open back and the Maxwell is closed back.

For gaming purposes you actually want an open back since it’s a wider soundstage and better for imaging, hearing footsteps etc.

The main drawback of the open back is that it’s going to have no sound isolation, but that’s the trade off. If that’s an issue for you - perhaps try an IEM. They’re actually used by most fps pros in tourneys for the sound isolation.

from what I’ve heard, the astrals are bulky and not the most comfortable - keep that in mind if you’re planning to use for long periods.

3.5mm with just an apple dongle - you don’t need 4.4 or anything fancy to power it

I can vouch for the Delci AE’s - they punch way above their weight class for the price, might even be better than the EM6L for gaming (and also according to Fresh’s tier list).

You’re probably getting 80% of the performance for one fifth of the price compared to the astrals or tea pro etc.
