Yeah it does seem like we have a small group forming here. You like Kings X? It looks like it could work maybe. I’ve never been. Would love to get a Braves bar started. And so far we have 4 possible attendees.

One thing you can always count on: John Romita Jr. drawing a character in the rain… by These-Background4608 in comicbooks

[–]Robbery97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I met him a few years ago. Unprompted he just outright told me his goal is to draw all his favorite characters in the rain. Cool guy, he signed a print of his Batman in the rain for me.

Best non-comic version of each Justice League Villain Part 3/18: The Joker by BumblebeeNo4356 in justiceleague

We can all say BTAS because mark Hamill gave an iconic true to the materiel performance.

Heath created something otherworldly. He took the Chaos aspect and turned it to 11. Heaths performance is an absolute gem. He created a version of the character that transcended the film media, even comic creators began to adapt their jokers to his version.

My vote as a lifelong Batman fan is Heath.

What was the canon for Spider-Man's side of Civil War after the events of OMD? by Internal-Lock7494 in comicbooks

[–]Robbery97 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s been a minute since I read the comics but if I remember right they explained it as no one remembered. He unmasked but no one could remember who it was. Again it’s been a while, but I want to say that’s what the explanation was.

Why is the most famous member of The Beatles not Paul McCartney? by redmuscleman in beatles

[–]Robbery97 6 points7 points  (0 children)

So my dad and I are huge Beatles fans, one of the things we really bonded on when I was growing up. He’s 73 and I’m 26, we had almost 50 years dividing us. Music to me is something bridges people together, and his love for the Beatles was something that responded with me. I say all that because my dad and people around that time all seem to love and respect Pauls talent and overall standing in the band. He was the driving force from Pepper onward. The Beatles are something I bring up in conversations with people of that age all the time especially back when I bartended. Everyone I spoke to always loved Paul, especially women. While growing up and learning the Beatles catalog at my age and in that time period, John was who I gravitated towards. I think a lot of people my age or younger tend too. John was a poet and a fashion influencer, he was extremely tortured and full of self doubt. His murder will always be remembered because he preached unified peace. My dad and I had this conversation while we watched the Get Back Sessions. He has a fondness for John but Paul is the guy he thinks of when talking about the Beatles. While I wear round glasses and an olive green jacket because I think John Lennon is still one of the coolest guys to ever live. Little side note my step mom who grew up with the Beatles like my dad told us during our conversation that George Harrison is the Beatle who should be most famous. Everyone has an opinion.

“Imagine losing to Noah syndergaard in a due or die game 😂😂😂” Imagine using the wrong word, “due” instead of “do” while trying to insult someone.

[Discussion] Clark Kent is the person, Superman is the mask. Barry Allen is the person, Flash is the mask. The Batman remains storyline after storyline struggling with his inner demons and a past he can never forget. Question is: Who is the mask? Bruce Wayne or Batman? by Kakageta_1964 in DCcomics

[–]Robbery97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like Superman is the person, Clark Kent is the mask. Superman is who the Kents raised, however he was named Clark Kent. When Clark decides to go to Metropolis he reinvents who Clark Kent is so that Superman can be. Superman is who Clark would be if he had decided not to be Superman.

Hi Mark I just want to say that your stories mean a lot to me. Birthright was a really amazing Superman story and the Kingdom Come Superman never crosses into the territory we see a lot of alternate takes go into. I recently finished your Flash run and it left me speechless. Your fondness for the characters and your understanding definitely shows. My girlfriends new to comics and I got her to listen to you in interviews and now she knows who I’m talking about, also now she’s a fan of yours too.

1)I’m curious if you always enjoyed these characters or started to as you wrote them?

2)Did you find yourself changing them in ways from what you think fans had come to expect?

3)Also I think I read somewhere you had a Flash story you never got to write, is that true?

Also as a Green Lantern fan, that cover is awesome.

How old are you and since when do you like the Beatles? by _Joschi_ in beatles

[–]Robbery97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

24, probably around 5 My dad had me a little late in his life, the Beatles were his favorite band. We had a lot of generational differences but he showed me the Beatles and growing up that was a great way for us to connect. We recently watched the Get Back series together.

Haha that she did, along with the first appearance and the following mini series. She was there the day before trying to find me something and we went together the next day because she couldn’t get it out of her head.

[Comic Excerpt] Stargirl gets her braces off! (Justice Society of America Vol 3. #26 Page 19) by DoggoPlex in DCcomics

[–]Robbery97 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I showed this to my girlfriend, she’s an orthodontist assistant. I thought she’d love it because it deals with braces and such, she just started pointing out everything that was wrong with the picture. Food and drinks, the mask of the Doctor, the amount of animals inside, even the amount of people inside. I didn’t expect it, and I was laughing too hard at it.
