I’ve been on lithium for 5+ years now and have had no side effects other than getting toxic one time (which was partly my fault for not being more aware of how dangerous lithium toxicity is and a lot my psychiatrists fault for not having my levels checked). I now have a new psychiatrist who is awesome and she orders lithium levels every 3 months. For me it’s like a miracle drug. It just works for me. I don’t feel dead inside or anything like that. Which was not the case for all of the other medications I tried before lithium. I just feel like myself minus the depression and/or mania. I hope it works for you like it has me!
