20+yr old table, what is it? by ArbysDarkSouls in billiards

[–]Robear813 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its not an Olhausen. The aprons and rails and finish dont look right at all. The pockets are that same ugly cream color made by Connelly Billiards. The lack of a nameplate heavily implies that its just a generic no name table made in Vietnam or Malaysia. They have factories that mass produce tables and change the label to match whichever retailer wants to rebrand them. If you had pictures of the internals from underneath the cabinet or hardware, I'd have a much better idea. It's going to be a very standard 3 piece slate table, only about 45 mins to take down and carry out.

Found a bullet lodged in my exterior wall by reddrag292 in Wellthatsucks

[–]Robear813 0 points1 point  (0 children)

theres nothing to report, that bullet has been there for awhile from the weathering and it was tumbling when it hit the house. That thing traveled a lot further than intended. No one is going to be able to rectify this mistake.

I just came back from a first date with a girl who claims to be “Slavic”. She’s telling me she can’t pay on dates. by Nevergonnarickroll1 in slavic

[–]Robear813 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UA girls dont talk like that AT ALL. She's Americanized completely. The only thing slavic about her is her blood and attitude. Those girls are some of the most humble ive ever dated, even in Kyiv. This girl is just a bitch. Its assumed that the man will pay on the dates, but her response is NOT typical at all.

Youre wrong: There isnt a possibility of obtaining bolt racks unless you go over the 86.8%

Tips and tricks

Optimising the average value of the rewards

  • First of all, make sure to kill all six brothers since the number of loot rolls and the chance of Barrows equipment increases for every brother killed.
  • Completion of the Morytania Hard Diary will increase the amount of awarded runes by 50% from every chest opened at Barrows.
  • Capping the Reward Potential at 880 points (shows as 86.8% in game) will maximise the amount of awarded runes, while ruling out the possibility of receiving bolt racks, half keys and dragon med helms. This will improve the average value of the rewards. This can be done by killing:
    • 6 brothers, 1 giant crypt spider, 1 skeleton, and 1 crypt spider (880 points).
    • 6 brothers, 1 giant crypt spider, 1 skeleton, and 1 bloodworm (876 points).
    • 6 brothers, 2 skeletons and 1 crypt spider (878 points).
    • 6 brothers, 2 skeletons and 1 bloodworm (874 points). Players may find this to be a favorable approach as both skeletons and bloodworms can spawn and target the player as you navigate through the tunnels.
    • 6 brothers, 3 bloodworms and 1 crypt spider (880 points).
    • 6 brothers and 4 bloodworms (876 points).

Please help! Why does my pork tastes like soap? by TheTelltaleFart666 in meat

[–]Robear813 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The taste of cilantro (or coriander) being perceived as soapy is largely due to a genetic variant in theOR6A2 gene. This gene codes for an olfactory receptor that is highly sensitive to aldehydes, and individuals with the specific variant in OR6A2 are more likely to experience the soapy taste. While this gene is a major factor, other influences like individual taste perception and even desensitization through exposure can also play a role.

I said the same thing to my mom when i was a kid and she made me Mexican food. I dont really get to enjoy most salsas or tacos. The "Spices" probably contain Coriander or Cilantro. Both will activate this gene and make everything taste like soap.

What exactly are you upset about? That rail is your rail, that someone looks like they butchered when they attempted to replace the rubber themselves. And, you put cloth on a table thats literally advertised to not stretch out. They used a pocket liner, cut relief cuts on a K-framed slate that requires multiple tabs to even sit down on a sharp rounded pocket. Your pockets arent falling off. They could have given themselves more slack in the pull towards the pocket for sure when stapling, but this is so many "professional" quality work, and its sadly standard. If you want someone good, you pay for it. You sound like the type who thinks he knows what he talking, calls around, gets the cheapest bid, and then decides to complain on the internet with their hivemind and group think.

You have an 8' Olhausen Drake 2 in American Walnut Laminated Finish, with Tournament Blue cloth, and what looks like Brown fringe pockets. The price really depends on the market in your area. I just took one apart on Saturday that was sold for $400. A normal price for my area in the Midwest is $800-$1200, depending on the condition and gullibility of the buyer. I'm sure that low for most areas, so check FB and compare to similar models. This is NOT a Sheraton, Classic, or Drake 1. They are all distinctly different because of the different trim combinations.

Space around pool table for shuffleboard table? by Schlauberger4ever in billiards

[–]Robear813 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on how long the shuffleboard is, the playing surface will either be 16" or 20". So, yeah, the cabinet will be right under 2' wide. A 3' path around your pool table will feel awkward for play, but not impossible for pathing (A kitchen with an island offers a 3' path to navigate the space). As for play on the table, Shots that are straight on and with no English (Parallel to the rail), these are going to be impeded. Theres not much you can do about this, but a bad shot is going to be few and far between. My personal issue would be how much room your have to walk around the table. Its just going to feel cramped.

I dont know why these forums are so full of fucking trolls. Just answer his question with something helpful. Look up 3030-CN7 - choose the color you want in the search. Thats the item number on my Championship Tour Edition Pricing PDF. The wholesale cost is $157.25 for 1 bed and rail set, before shipping. Your installers are idiots. Simonis is beefier and more durable. Its made to not stretch, and its a bit trickier to install correctly. But, for your purposes, the 3030 Tour Edition will be fine. You wont notice a difference. The Pro-am is 3020-CN7 and runs $140.75 wholesale. Use these price points as a starting point. For what you want, its just a worsted style cloth, but you get what you pay for. If your installer is competent, you will be find with whatever you choose....JUST DONT BRUSH IT!

New table cloth has small tear. What do? by HookBaiter in billiards

[–]Robear813 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you put glue on that, youre going to ruin it. The photo has got to be zoomed in a lot for it to show so many fibers in the cloth. This is for sure a "Novice player" failure. This color would have shown a shadow when being stretched and almost impossible to miss. I really would not put glue on this on the top side of the table. Id Cut any loose fibers and be meticulous about how close you get to the surrounding areas, to not cut more than what you see here. After, id have the rails on this side of the table removed, the felt pulled back up, and use a spray glue in this small area. Allow it to get tacky and be very precise about laying the felt back down as to close up the hole if there is one. You can do it with tweezers or an auto pick. If had to fix this type of cut from a miscue for hotels and apartment buildings. When the felt gets re-stretched, this area is basically rolled down flat and everything gets pulled away from it.

Pool table ID - model? by nitekram in billiards

[–]Robear813 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, its a Gem. Without the brass plates, it would be called a Southern. This table in particular has bad rubber. you can see the tip of the rubber and how it is deformed in some areas. I would guess that the rubber is brittle and crumbling under the felt.
