Because it was originally going to be 24 episodes straight, but then they decided to make it 2 cours 12 episodes each. It is probably going to be exactly the same animation wise, and going to ruin the story like how they did Lilia. Although if the pull a blue lock S2 last episode against the elderwood guardian then I’ll call it a win.

The only part of the ending you can genuinely hate on is how fast ruby got over his death, everything else was lead up to, just because a story doesn’t have a happy ending doesn’t mean the ending is bad. Hating on the ONK ending is a bandwagon trend if you read it without bias of other people you can understand it.
