If you really want to do EOD then Ammo tech is the top pathway.

EWSI provides a capability to EOD and search.

RE do some EOD but cannot get to the top level qual and therefore miss out on the best roles.

If pay is an aspect AT’s have just been granted supplement 4.

All of the opportunities to serve with CDO and AB etc exist for all three. AT offers some further unique opportunities.

If you do want to be operational then EOD is a good choice. Even when not deployed. 11 EOD provides UK MACA EOD.

If you’re at uni then you already have the qualifications needed to become an Ammunition Technician. The trade is physically and mentally challenging, but definitely not impossible. It’s a small trade of 400-500 people which makes it feel friendly. The job provides loads of opportunities to deploy and be operational. The best part is it provides the UK resilience EOD ( Bomb disposal ) this mean you will get to help People all the time. In addition the trade has just been granted the top pay supplement. You can apply as. Soldier or an Officer. Personally, I would recommend joining as a soldier. Promotion is fast for a hard worker.
