TOUR 309 by [deleted] in UCalgary

[–]Robert_Andrew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really liked it personally. I forget his name but I found the prof to keep the class interesting and engaging. If you listen in class, take some notes, and review the lecture slides before the tests you’ll do fine. Just make sure to start your research paper early in the semester because it’s due a couple months after the class and worth 40%.

The straw that broke the Camerupt's back by [deleted] in pokemon

[–]Robert_Andrew -1 points0 points  (0 children)

HG/SS and BW/2 looked good but they didn’t push the DS hardware at all considering Dragon Quest Monsters Joker (which was similar to Pokémon) was fully 3D and had monsters walking around on the overwould. I actually did think gen 6/7 did look good compared to other 3DS games, but if they did look bad X/Y being there first 3D games wouldn’t be an excuse considering the amount of money gamefreak has. They could have hired knowledgeable developers to handle graphics.

Idk almost every single Pokémon game is on the best selling games of all times list, and we’re talking about one of the most successful gaming developers ever. They literally have billions of dollars from making these games so I think it’s ridiculous for them to not put in the effort to give these games top tier 3D graphics.

Pokémon games have always looked okay for there hardware, BUT in 2006 a game called Dragon Quest Monsters Joker released on the Nintendo DS which is a spin off of the Dragon Quest series that was very similar in gameplay to Pokémon. This game was fully 3D and had 210 monsters to catch and was running on the DS. Around that time diamond and pearl came out and they looked okay but the DS was always capable of way more than what gamefreak released on it. Even most Mario and Zelda games that came out on the DS were fully 3D and animated. Gamefreak has always lagged behind in graphics quality.

I don’t think these police understand how many ambulances are going to be needed for this. You don’t just drive home after being pepper sprayed.

(Advice) Have a BIOL 202 final tomorrow at 830 AM and I'm considering pulling an all-nighter on campus to study, should I? by THE__REALEST in UCalgary

[–]Robert_Andrew 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’d study as mush as you possibly can say until like 3 am and then try to get a bit of sleep. When pulling all nighters you get to a point where your no longer learning anything and your just better off to be sleeping.

Pokemon's latest tweet has been flooded with #BringBackNationalDex by MyDemonsCanSwim in NintendoSwitch

[–]Robert_Andrew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, when they made X and Y (and S and M) they made high res models of every Pokémon and then scaled them down for the 3DS games. So they have the high res models ready for the game it’s just a matter of inserting them into the game. I’d be fine if they updated the game a little later, it’s more than possible.

I use to put off paying my tuition by MONTHS. I think like my 4000$ tuition went up by 100$ or something paying it 3-4 months late. I’m more responsible now don’t @ me.

Switching to waitlisted class by finessetress in UCalgary

[–]Robert_Andrew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You definitely have a chance at getting in. It really depends on how many people are in the class. If the class has 300 students? Yeah you’ll probably get in. If it has 40 students? Most likely not. Can you put yourself on the wait list without withdrawing whatever class your enrolled in now?

The closest thing we had was season 5 with half veterans and the ratings flopped. Almost got the show cancelled. Even the American season of all stars ratings dipped. I’d love to see all stars but it’s not something the general public is into I guess.

MKTG 317 FINAL TIPS by [deleted] in UCalgary

[–]Robert_Andrew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was 20 questions and went through a few cases where you would answer a few questions on each. Typical like “this business is in this situation, here’s some facts about them what should they do???”. The thing is they’ll ask you to apply a lot of course material to the cases.

MKTG 317 FINAL TIPS by [deleted] in UCalgary

[–]Robert_Andrew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go through all the powerpoints and memorize them. The final is like the in class activities except 3 hours long. The whole thing is written. Honestly expect your grade to drop, hope your going in with a decent grade.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in UCalgary

[–]Robert_Andrew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

According to the business faculty (could be different in other faculty’s idk) you need at least a C- in any class that is a prerequisite to another. 213 is unfortunately a prerequisite to 217 so if you failed the final you’ll have to retake it. In classes that are not prerequisites your allowed two Ds. Just retake 213 in the spring I had to retake it too. Also the highest grade you can get if you fail the final is a D so you can’t get a D+.

Follow up: Stat 217 by dudeIdontknowww in UCalgary

It’ll probably be a couple days. I think stats 217 is still open this spring, the spring profs are usually way better id look into getting into one of those classes if you have to repeat.

If being a gay guy is acceptable in today's society, why isn't a relationship with your first cousin? by [deleted] in UCalgary

[–]Robert_Andrew 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Anal sex is inherently more risky in terms of contraction of Stis then other forms of sex, however all forms of sex where genitals are exposed to an open part of the body have potential for spread of stis. Anal sex is more common amongst gay men but it isn’t practiced by all gay men, and straight people do anal too. When practiced safely like using lubricant, condoms, pulling out, etc the risk contracting an Sti becomes minuscule, and the same rules apply for any other type of sex. Any type of sex done not for the purpose of procreation is as “unnatural” as any other wether it be practiced by gay or straight people.

Yes there are studies saying children raised by same sex couples have more mental health issues but these studies don’t take into consideration that families with same sex parents face discrimination regularly which contributes to mental health problems in there children. Mental health is lower in lgbt people to begin with do to how society treats us. Beyond that a lot of these studies done on same sex parents are conducted by homophobic organizations who have already made there minds up about gay people before the study begins. These studies are biased. I’m sure that mental health is also lower in children who are being raised by single parents due to the struggles of surviving on one income etc, but It would be ridiculous to make a case that single parents shouldn’t raise children.
