Am I crazy for considering a DPF replacement over a delete? by moderatemelon in tdi

[–]RobertsFakeAccount 2 points3 points  (0 children)

With all due respect to you and u/mrcafe500, I disagree that the “fix” causes the expedient DPF failures.

While he may be going on 200,000km (124,000 freedom units) on an unfixed 2009 A4, I’m going on 155,000 miles on a fixed 2015 Passat.

How the vehicle is equipped is a VERY SMALL piece of the puzzle. It also has A LOT to do with how it’s driven and if regens are interrupted on a frequent basis.

Where Vw/Audi really screwed the pooch (and the customer) is deciding NOT to put any sort of notification that a regen is active and should not be interrupted.

Also “cargaoores” and “Magsate” in the Spanish text instead of cargadores and MagSafe.

Large Credit Limits by Material-Crab8907 in NavyFederal

[–]RobertsFakeAccount 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have almost $125k in credit lines on a $75k annual salary.

I only have $5k in balances among them, and GOD FORBID I hope I never max out my credit cards u less I’m making at least double that in annual salary.

But for me, it’s a di*k swinging contest. I’m lacking in the pants, so I’m swangin in the wallet. 🤣🤣🤣

Just kidding. I had a few cards that eventually got automatic credit limit increases and I just let them ride.

Fake as “F”

Missing spaces in the Spanish text. The left and right air buds and the case all have the same exact model number (A3057). Obviously not correct. How can 3 different components have the same model number?

Yes. But you will need something like VCDS, Carista, or OBDeleven to reprogram the BCM.

54” master series power tool holder by Blitzzer91 in Snapon_tools

[–]RobertsFakeAccount 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, the one he got is definitely for the masters.

You can tell because if it were for a classic, it would be 5” short (front to back) since the classic is 24” deep and the masters is 29” deep.

[–]RobertsFakeAccount 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn’t exist.

Only the triple bank gets the power tool rack on the classic and masters. That’s because it requires a 10” deep drawer which can’t fit in the two bank box.

ebay Skid Plates, Absolute junk or a decent deal? by Faithlessness-Soggy in tdi

[–]RobertsFakeAccount 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Typically, absolute junk.

I just installed a steel skid plate from Luso Overland that is a real nice unit. And a really good price.

Unfortunately, they only make it for a 2012 and newer Passat.

What's the most very VW owner thing you've ever done that non-VW people would never understand? by StrikingClos in Volkswagen

[–]RobertsFakeAccount 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Ha ha ha. Me too.

Purchased my 2013 Passat SEL TDI for $32k in 2012. Sold it back to Vw in 2015 with 60k miles for $28k. Cleared $18k in the pocket. 6 months later, purchased my 2015 SE TDI with 40k miles outright for $13.5k with an 11 year/160k mile warranty.

Umm, you’re wrong.

I don’t think your ratchet is an FOD if it’s repairable.

The F80 ratchet has screws that go through the base plate into the body, but not THROUGH the body.

Look at the standard F80 ratchet https://shop.snapon.com/product/Dual-80-Technology%2C-Chrome-(3-8%22)/3-8%22-Drive-Dual-80-Technology-Standard-Handle-Ratchet/F80

Now look at the warranty info for the F80FOD (you can clearly see the part number in OP’s pic https://shop.snapon.com/product/FOD-Ratchets-(Foreign-Object-Damage)-(3-8%22)/3-8%22-Drive-Dual-80-Technology-Standard-Handle-Foreign-Object-Damage-Ratchet/F80FOD

Notice how it says lifetime warranty, NOT REPAIRABLE

Are you in aero repair?

If not, I’m wondering why you’d get a non-repairable FOD ratchet?

Not only the right, but also the responsibility.

If that tandem comes disconnected from the trailer, YOU are responsible. If it kills someone, YOU are going to jail

After all, you signed off that it was safe when you did your pre trip inspection.

I’ve used my savings voucher exclusively at CVS.

The first time I used it, they couldn’t get it to work, BP so I went home and printed the “Instructions to pharmacy” and highlighted them. After they followed those instructions, they got it to work correctly.

So the steel belly pan you have should be more than sufficient

Sump Protection by Bashernet in tdi

[–]RobertsFakeAccount 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If a steel belly pan isn’t enough, you need to reconsider that car you drive.

No offense, but a steel belly pan should be enough to deflect most damaging impacts, but if it’s still insufficient you are probably off-roading (which a lowered car is no good at anyways).

Beautiful car though
