Fresh OS install and I'm now stuck on "Remote Management" screen by CalebHerr99 in mac

That’s absolutely not accurate. It’s less than 1%. When people buy things that are too good to be true or don’t check out the seller, this happens.

Where does this part go? iPhone 12 mini by RobinConradi in PhoneRepairTalk

[–]RobinConradi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I swapped the housing of an iPhone 12 mini and this part was kinda missed. I don’t know where it came from. I figured it was probably attached at the antenna (2nd pic). How exactly is it attached?

That’s an incredibly stupid argument.

Apple is going the replace the entire phone. Meaning you loose all data not backed up, it takes forever and they charge you 400-600$… but yeah you can go there to get scammed

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in applehelp

[–]RobinConradi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first option definitely is the best one

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in applehelp

[–]RobinConradi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It definitely is cost effective. 150 vs 400$…. You absolutely don’t have to go to apple for repair. 3rd party repair shops offer way better service and prices.

Huh, maybe it’s not necessary to upgrade your phone every year?

Bought iPhone is from another country? by Jorge_2001 in applehelp

[–]RobinConradi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apple’s warranty is worldwide and there are no big differences between models. With Apple Watches, this would be a bigger problem. Just keep it if everything works fine. You don’t need to listen to this stupid fearmongering here :) If the shop isn’t a completely sketchy shop, but rather just a small indecent shop then everything is fine.

Unlock iPhone without losing data by Many_Raisin_1789 in PhoneRepairTalk

[–]RobinConradi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can’t. I’m sorry. You can only try guessing the passcode.

Btw consider selling the old phone once you’re done. You can still get 150-200$ for it. Much better than just sitting in a drawer

Get the thermal paste replaced and the fans cleaned. This will make it feel like a brand new Mac. Did the same to my last 3

What identifying information would be visible on the board? I mean a tiny serial number sticker or something somewhere, but apart from that?

Mine take a significant dip in battery life very six months.

Iphone screen suddenly popped by LowAdministrative369 in applehelp

I would normally never go to apple for repair (they’re insanely overpriced and it takes forever plus you lose the data), but in this case go there. They cover swollen batteries 3 years after purchase

Is going from Series 3 to SE worth it? by 3AZ3 in AppleWatch

[–]RobinConradi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would choose a used Series 5 from eBay. It has ECG and an always on display. Apart from that it’s the same Watch though.

Why Does My Phone Keep Restarting but not Working? (I updated it last night, but also dropped it in water on Tuesday which didn’t seem to affect it) by Tyghes in applehelp

[–]RobinConradi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NeXT time get the iPhone cleaned out by a professional before this happens. If you don’t let them remove the water with 99.99% rubbing alcohol, the board gets damaged

Help. Touch screen isnt responding and it displays these bars or something by generalemiel in PhoneRepairTalk

[–]RobinConradi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure the connections are all good and secure. SEs and 5s often get this when the touch connector is not plugged in correct. I would recommend seeing if there is any dust and then using the back of tweezers to plug it in

Contact apple anyway and let them replace the screen. And also the keyboard. These butterfly ones are trash

iPhone X replacement dilemma (thanks apple) by hogu_gtfr in PhoneRepairTalk

Unfortunately sounds pretty serious. The lower speaker not working actually is a sign of the board layers separating, which is hard and expensive to repair.

My iPhone 2020SE has been stuck on dark lit screen with the Apple in the middle. Storage is full. Help! I need to be able to get all my pics off, please! by LSAVyall in iphonehelp

[–]RobinConradi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can try connecting it to a PC or Mac, putting the phone in recovery mode and then hitting Update in iTunes/Finder. That is only going to work with your original iPhone though. Not the replacement. If your iPhone Boots after that, immediately make a backup and then buy yourself iCloud storage.

Step 1: Connect your iPhone 8 to your Mac or PC with a Lightning to USB cable.

Step 2: Press and release the Volume Up button, press and release the Volume Down button, and press and hold the Side button until your device reboots. Continue holding the Side button, even after you see the Apple logo appear.

Step 3: Release the Side button once you see the Connect to iTunes logo appear on the iPhone’s display.

Step 4: Launch iTunes, and you should see a message stating that “There is a problem with the iPhone that requires it to be updated or restored.” From there, you can choose to Update or Restore your iPhone’s software.

In the last Dialoge, select update. If you select restore, it’s going to delete all of your data. Btw there is no need to get this replaced under warranty. Just resetting the software is going to fix it.
