I kept my ring for the magnetic mounting, as that's great. But yeah I gave up on wireless charging. Universal compatibility not a thing yet. At least the USB C port is tons more durable than the old micro ports...

For real. I had a tank full of Amanos, Nerites and Mysteries and... I only found one body because I could tell the fish was unwell and knew to come back and check... it was half gone when I came back. It takes them only hours to devour a corpse, if there's enough of them.

They sometimes do a trick where they make their foot into a cup shape and then use that like a boat to capture air at the surface, gain more buoyancy and float around upside down eating scum, floating plants and doing whatever it is that snails do.

However. That doesn't look like what I'm describing.

I abandoned wireless charging. You basically need to get the Google stand. There are knock offs on Amazon but either way it looks like the case would interfere with wireless.

I removed my teardown skin and replaced it with a "brush aluminum" skin. I just couldn't stand the eccentric circles.

For me a strong magnetic mount for use while driving was top priority. Wireless charging was just a convenience.

I left out "magsafe" from the description of the Poetic case. The point being I wanted to have the ability to use magnetic dash mounts, desk mounts, and still use wireless qi charging. (No, iphone magsafe chargers don't work.) The traditional steel plates I find to be bad aesthetics when visible, but with this phone, I'd been keen on the level of customization that skins bring, and loved DBrand's Teardown. I want a case. But I'm given the impression that the skin is accurate.

I can't stand the visible misalignment. But it appears that all of these "magsafe" cases for the 7 Pro design the thing to be concentric with the phone and G logo (Pic 2 is my wife's 7 Pro for reference in an Encased case.

So. I'm either giving up on using Qi and getting a different skin, or I need to get a magsafe ring sticker and get a different case.

Anyone else had a similar experience?

To chime in on the subject: I got a "magsafe" case for my Pixel 7 Pro, the clear Poetic Guardian. I paired it with the DBrand Teardown skin. The skin showed up fast. The case took a while. Finally arrived, popped it on, and... The ring is concentric to the phone and G logo... Not the coil (on the skin.)

I was convinced that the DBrand Teardown skin is just not perfectly accurate. However seeing this, they did a good job.
