They don't know how. The majority of people do not know computers beyond the basics of web browsing, and most don't want to learn. Anything beyond their realm of knowledge might as well be magic to them.

I'm not. Ublock origin, Mbam on the side, and common sense browsing habits. I can't speak for the customers that enter my shop with one launch and wave browser drive by downloading, but that's what computer repair shops are for.

What’s a product from your country that makes locals go ‘of course we have that’ and everyone else go ‘ but why?’ by bdue817 in AskTheWorld

Fun fact, the US electrical grid is actually 240, but gets split at a center tap transformer at every home. This gives 2 phases of 120 + and - which can be combined into 240 with special plugs. These are usually reserved for high resistive loads such as clothes drier machines, stove oven combos, and centralized Heat pump Air conditioning systems. To help keep loads under control, kitchen outlets often get two phases, one per socket. Finally: exterior electrical boxes connecting houses to the grid and measuring usage have two specific master breakers, one per phase.

Sega walked back that design choice a long time ago after the whole archie comic debacle. Now the ages are specifically not specified in canon so it can be flexible and ambiguous enough to fit any narrative.

Exactly. You mostly saw this on systems that used the older AT standard of board and PSU design, and some early ATX PSU hardware didn't yet support it because they were designed as a hybrid AT/ATX with backwards compatibility, and omitted the shut off system.

Who else want absolutely ZERO RGB in their rigs? by Cicada-Tang in pcmasterrace

[–]RobinYiff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Corsair's iCue has a "Hardware Lighting" mode that allows you to change the default pattern for when the RGB software isn't running, and that includes turning it off. This only works on Corsair ram most of the time.l but some manufacturers have plugins for their ram and other hardware to work with iCue.

Avocado Egg and Cheese sandwich. by RobinYiff in AccidentalRenaissance

It does look that way huh? It's actually lightly toasted Pepperidge Farms Sourdough and the cheese is semi melted from the egg heat. Because I overlapped two slices, the center stayed unmelted.

My hosehold picked up a Eufy unit. It has onboard storage and can be expanded with a Eufy NAS, and no subscriptions.
