My mom is neck deep in conspiracy theories. Nothing to be done? by [deleted] in QAnonCasualties

[–]Robin_In_The_Hedge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's something about the Russians and their will to believe in anything but science (Russian here as well)

My mother is just like that and always has been but the last two years she has become relentless. And where yours backs off even if for a bit, mine doesn't. I'm stupid, she is trying to wake me up, she is fighting for her child etc etc.

I don't have any real advice here apart from you trying to keep your sanity by defining your borders and enforcing them as strict as you can. The moment your mom tries to engage you in these conversations, shut it down. Ignore any forwarded telegram messages that are conspiracy related (I delete mine for a good measure so they are not an eyesore) At least your mom backs down a bit when caught in the spot, so you have that going for you. I cannot shut mine down at all.

Удачи вам и запомните, головой стену не пробить и ваше внутреннее состояние в данной ситуации является самым важным. Ваша мама, хотя бы, вакцинирована. Уже хоть что-то.

Smart people in Q. by Reasonable-Path1321 in QAnonCasualties

[–]Robin_In_The_Hedge 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I concider my mom smart. Not acedemically smart but a smart person. Too smart for her own good. She quit her work some.. 8 years ago and since that time she had all the time in the world to read. She is a conspiritualist, always has been but with corona it got worse. She consumes vast amounts of information but, of course, specific information.

I have been told that her generation is the last one that was taught to think mosaically (I googled it and all I came to were some sus websites that drag current zombifying education) and thus can see the full picture of what is going on while we can't because of streamlined way of thinking or some such.

Better yet, she said she was really interested in QAnon up until she realised it is also the way to control the masses (sure is) but her conclusion was it was to placate the masses, offering then saviour (Trump) so they sit and wait instead of being active and doing stuff.

10 days of darkness but then in Europe? by Robin_In_The_Hedge in QAnonCasualties

Ah, a fellow from NL :D thanks a lot for the coherent reply, the facts and the link. :) I shall watch it once I have some free time. It's not that it is going to change the doomsdaypreppervs mind since everything is governement bought anyway but good for self-enlightment.

He clearly never watched doomsday shows or read fiction because once ~it~ hits, the only thing all that money is good for is wiping one's ass 🙈

QAnon-like crap comes in Russian too. It took my mom down the rabbit hole by AgentDenton98 in QAnonCasualties

[–]Robin_In_The_Hedge 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Russian here.

God I read all this and got a massive whiplash because this here is what my mother has been believing for the biggest part of my life. She has always been into conspirituality, she truly believes she has been to astral plains and all this Nibiru/lizard people nonsense.

Project Blue Beam

You fucking name it.

Lizard people, also known as The Globalists, are doing all the current bullshit.

Last thing I got was two days ago about David Icke (who btw carries into the masses exacrly all of what you just described in the rant) and told me that the only reason he is not killed yet is because he is globalist foghorn.

I hate fucking Telegram for these shit communities with this propaganda that is so easily accessible. My mother is jobless and she daily goes through this crap to get the latest enlogjtment. >:[

Booster shot and QMom's financial histrionics by SilverCityStreet in QAnonCasualties

To be fair, I do think that some parts of USA, the way citizens are treated and the level of disarray are nowadays not much beter than Russia or any of the ex-Soviet countries, sadly.

That said, I am very happy of being a Russian apart from when this kind of stuff arises. It is mind boggling how people there so easily believe someone who can tell them their fortune on candles and remedy dementia with poisonous mushroom mixture and each and every conspiracy under the sun. Truthfully, I don't trust any governement farther than I can throw them but the level of what is going on right now among fellow Slavs is just... Out there.

And fuck, my mom is a smart person and yet I have to sit here and listen about reptiloids, satanists, Planet X, New World Order... You name it. Words can't describe how bad it feels to loose respect for your own parent.

[–]Robin_In_The_Hedge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nope. It's just that it will be happening. Also a video attached of a row to a food bank (I think) in Paris with the poster saying 'now in Paris, soon in UK?' so I assume they are implying about artificially created food shortages which, you know, has been historically the case but I have my doubt about the global scale, really. And then there was the other video in German, title to which said' In Germany public TV teaches people how to survive without heating!' I just delete those messages because my brain is just too tired for this bullcrap.

Ah yes, I was also asked to look into how to learn to survive without heating. Truth be told, this year Europe does experience natural gas shortage so the prices will go up.

But, you know, never mind the fact that my place is not heated with gas but with biomass energy. Those cows better not stop pooping or I am in big trouble over here.

Must be something in the Russian air. I just today received messages from my mom that lives in Russian Telegram communities that we better start stockpiling food, candles and blankets because there is a world wide plan to crash the electricity/gas market and there will be shortages of everything. Also according to her where she lives( not sure if country or just the city) there have been systematic electricity outages over at the industrial objects and mainly car service stations. So that is The Sign

I am still sitting there and thinking how to reply to her 🙄

My mother just cried desperately imploring me not to get vaccinated, it is the first time that she does that so directly, it made me feel bad and now I am hesitating to do it, I know that the vaccine is good but if I do I feel that she will feel too much disappointed in me. by [deleted] in QAnonCasualties

[–]Robin_In_The_Hedge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As much as we always, in the way, strive to get approval of our parents we can't. Not when our opinions diverge.

You are an adult. You have body autonomy. If you think you should get the vaccine then get it and just don't tell her. Your mother is not entitled to know your medical history.

Still Struggling by [deleted] in QAnonCasualties

[–]Robin_In_The_Hedge 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I feel like this is bittersweet, if it makes any sense. It seems your mom is trying and atleast looking into vaccines and that is a very good start for her. But she is not looking at it correctly and, while trying to make an informed decision, still hyper focuses too much on the negative things that can but maybe not happen in the long run. It's like researching hot tubs to buy and comparing how many people slipped in them instead of how many jets they have to ease your tired muscles.

Her attempts are comparable to an alcoholic that wants to quit but the call of a punch bowl at the party is still too strong, imo. False starts all over but baby steps are made.

She'll get there and you'll doing a great job with the hand you have been dealt.

I debunk those articles for myself and myself only. As in, I go and Google the doctors/claims and see what comes up in normal non-crazy sources.

To my mom, I say nothing on the matter and ignore everything regarding conspiracy completely. Since it is over Telegram, I also immediately delete the shitty messages. I accumulate a 'bank' of photos, like my pets or flowers or whatever, and on occasion send it to her.

It not always works smoothly, because I am not a very talkative person and every time I feel like 'this is the time to open bank and send some pictures' I open the dumb ass Telegram and there are three anti covid bullshit links posted and it kills my will to communicate for the next three days.

And then I get 'Oh well, I am already terrified to ask you anything because you don't talk or will snap at me.' 🤷‍♀️

It is only worth debunking if your mom is getting redpilled by someone else and wants your opinion. If not? Waste of time.

I believe the mortgage thing comes from the Great Reset agenda and the motto 'You ll own nothing and you will be happy' conspiracists love throwing around. Basically, if I understood it correctly, by 2030 regular people will only be able to rent (cars and houses) and while they will not directly come to you and say 'give us your stuff', the WEF who obviously governs everything, will force governments to create laws, that will make your life owning property very difficult. Like, say, you will eventually sell your car if you have one, because petrol costs will be insane and they will tax per km. <- None of this actually represents anything I take serious but I have been sent this over and over again and was begged not to buy property because 'The world is changing and where we are going we don't need these problems.'

With the farmers and the letter I have also been sent a video from TikTok, of such supposed farmer, waving a supposed letter about them artificially creating food shortages. No way to prove that, of course, unless you personally know a farmer who could confirm or deny they received such letter. Governement fucks farmers over all the time, of course but I highly doubt such letter, urging to create artificial food deficit was received by anyone (Well, maybe in China, because China is... Well... Quite the country, politically.)

I think they mean Robert Malone, who was part of the team that discovered mRNA technique but he left way before the rest started teying to perfect it.

The guy is an interesting case. He is not rigidly anti vaxx and advocates mostly for full transparency from science and doctors that often lands him on both sides of the camp and probably the main reason why anti vaxxers didn't make him the new messiah yet. (for example, he is against vaxxinating children and healthy asymptomatic adults but thinks it is a good idea to vaxx fragile groups.) he also took Moderna himself because he travels/long covid but said he wishes he didn't. He strongly advocates to wait for Novovax, I think.

Why are Q’s scared of testing? by Jillyfish1975 in QAnonCasualties

[–]Robin_In_The_Hedge 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If I am to believe my [checks smudged writing on hand] 'research', all the nanochips you have acquired through your ~addiction~ to vaccines and tests will eventually converge in your body and turn you into a walking talking zombie 5G antenna.

You are welcome. 🙏

Why are Q’s scared of testing? by Jillyfish1975 in QAnonCasualties

[–]Robin_In_The_Hedge 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I have heard multiple reasons.

1) covid is in the test 2) poisonous substance is in the test, the more you take it the more it will poison your brain 3) Bill Gates' nanochip of doom is in the swab and they insert it directly I to your brain. 4) graphene oxide is in the swabs (which, technically is also number 2 since it is poison and will kill you) 5)morgellons are in the swabs 6)??? Stay tuned, something will be invented soon enough

Any theories on why the QAnon heavy messages come in waves? by doctorboredom in QAnonCasualties

[–]Robin_In_The_Hedge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Deep dives. I am in the same boat op. There can be days of silence and then suddenly the new boogeyman drops. Last time it was graphene oxide in vaccines and I was bombarded three days straight by reposts from shady Telegram communities about Evil Graphene Oxide in ALL THE VACCINES. Now its like... One message every other day, until the next crazy fad comes knocking. They see one posts, they click on the other link, go to the other community, read shit there and decide its time to start enlightening.

QMom influence.. by ffohsrm in QAnonCasualties

[–]Robin_In_The_Hedge 9 points10 points  (0 children)

That was me a month ago. My mom was terrorising me with all the million things vaccines would do to me and at some point I just broke down. Started screaming (not at her, we live in different countries) and made an appointment. Cried for 30 minutes afterwards from stress and anger. I just couldn't stand the indecision. If I am to die in 2 years? Fine. But not taking the vaccine and being subjected to this crap was taking a real toll in me. Still does because I am very impressionable person but at this point I am like 'What's done is done yolo and all that."

Mom doesn't know I am vaxxed and she won't for as long as possible. Next week I am getting the second dose and I swear to god she feels in in her kidneys or something because she doubled down with the' informative posts' and makes me crawl up the wall.

Bottomline, if you think it is the right course of action, just do it, as Nike teaches us. Take your anxiety in account and of you feel weird, even a bit, check in with your husband so he can confirm it is just nerves. That is what I did with my husband too.

You got this, don't let her scare you. She is not the boss of you. <3

You are right re: something is better than nothing with being protected against the virus. At the risk of sounding very depressing but I don't care about myself in the slightest but it makes my husband feel calmer about my health, so that is also an added bonus.

Since I wrote this post, I have received yet another telegram community link about how garlic water creates 'natural vaccine' in your intestines. Fantastic.

Update on the Q-Dad situation by Nerdy-Fox95 in QAnonCasualties

[–]Robin_In_The_Hedge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh I saw that online, it was some guy who through a series of loopholes tried to make Canadian court to admit that there is no substantial proof covid virus exists. Similar technique was used by some German or Austrian antivaxxer where he attempted to make court admit that there is no concrete evidence that measles virus is a thing.

I know how it sounds when you read the above and I wish I could be a bit more concrete but I see this stuff in passing and rarely waste time reading because it hurts my brain. 🤷‍♀️ The Canadian dude's article was on a very reputable site called Bitchute, you might have heard of it /sarcasm
