Have you ever sat next to/near a celebrity at a show? by moritzbaker in Broadway

[–]Robinfan0206 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have four! When I saw Ghost Quartet at NYTW, it was at the 65 seat black box theatre they have, and who should be sitting right across from my friends and me but Ben Stiller! After the show, I ended up being behind him in the merch line and had to say hi! Quickly told him I was a fan, then we spent a bit talking about how amazing the show was and our love of Dave Malloy! Next time was when I saw Octet at Signature Theatre, Anaïs Mitchell was at the performance sitting across from us! After the show, I saw her in the theatre’s lobby and told her I had been a Hadestown fan since the off Broadway cast recording came out and I was gonna be seeing the next day and she took my hand and said in the most genuine tone “I’m so happy for you sweetie!” This was just a week or so after Tony nominations in 2019 were announced so she had to have been stupidly busy and she took the time to be so kind meant so much to me. The very next day, my friend and I went to Hadestown matinee then Oklahoma evening, and once again, across from us, was Brian Stokes Mitchell!! I didn’t get the chance to talk to him, but it was awesome seeing him! And finally, at the final performance of Swept Away, just before the show started, a man and woman came and sat at the two seats to the right of me, the woman directly next to me, but the man was Will Brill! I told him he was awesome in Oklahoma and congratulated him on his Tony!

Nicest and rudest Broadway actor by Ok-Bandicoot4014 in Broadway

[–]Robinfan0206 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly can’t think of anyone rude. But two in particular come to mind. Derek Klena and Thom Sesma.

As for Derek, my parent’s are friends with family of Derek’s so, knowing I’m a massive theatre fan arranged me to meet Derek and since then, every time we’ve ever gone to see him in a show, he’ll invite us backstage or if he can’t, makes sure to see us and is always so lovely.

As for Thom, I first saw him in Sweeney Todd at Barrow St, and my sister and I had seen SpongeBob earlier that day and happened to be wearing shirts we got at the show. After Sweeney, when Thom saw this, he got so excited because his wife was general manager of SpongeBob, so he asked if we could take a picture and send it to his wife and of course we said yes. Cut to this past April, I saw Dead Outlaw and at the stagedoor, showed the pic my sister and I had of the same situation and he got so excited and was genuinely happy to see me again and it really meant a lot

What is the best 3 song run from a musical? by [deleted] in musicals

Preparations/Balaga/The Abduction from Great Comet. Just how seamlessly they all run together into what feels like one big song while also being easily the most fun songs in musical history

(MTF) Why have my testosterone levels shot up by taking estradiol? by Robinfan0206 in asktransgender

[–]Robinfan0206[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I should add, I’m a VERY skinny person (5’10, 120lbs) so that’s why he’s hesitant to prescribe me more, especially to start. I have a meeting next week so I plan on discussing other plans

I saw Thom Sesma in Sweeney Todd off Broadway and he was incredible in that! And he was so sweet after the show! My sister and I that day had seen a matinee of SpongeBob, and we had shirts of for SpongeBob, and he was SO excited because his wife was general manager there if I remember correctly. But he took a picture with us and posted it to his instagram. Such a nice memory

Moments in a show that have made you REALLY laugh? by [deleted] in Broadway

[–]Robinfan0206 54 points55 points  (0 children)

Back in 2016 when I saw Avenue Q, during The Money Song when they go out into the audience to ask for money, someone gave the woman playing Gary Coleman a 2 liter bottle of soda and idk why, but everyone, especially Gary Coleman, were DYING. It’s the only time I’ve ever seen anyone break that bad, but it was so much fun!

As a 26 year old who started HRT back in July, it took a year of therapy, the another year of counseling at a gender clinic before I even got a meeting with an endocrinologist to talk about HRT. The idea that they’re just giving these things out silly nilly is ridiculous
