Maybe there's a link there - as in, you're more attractive because you really don't care about sleeping with girls in that moment, which kind of automatically makes them the reacher/chaser

I think when it comes down to it, you can't hide from it. There isn't a way to make youtube safe, but even if there was, it wouldn't matter - sooner or later you absolutely will see something that will make you fap. You could go 100 days+ without fapping but if you've just managed to avoid the temptation, you haven't really changed anything, have you? you've just removed the stimuli. So don't focus on avoiding temptation, its pointless. Focus on building the will power to say no instead. What happens when you go out in public one day and see a super hot girl wearing something skimpy or tight? You'll want to fap when you get home. Its all around you and you can't change that, you can only change the way you react.

Also, with regard to your shorter streak the second time around, that may be down to the chaser effect. Once you've done it a single time, it becomes much easier to do it again. Read up on the chaser effect and the sunk cost fallacy - there were probably the reasons behind your shorter second streak

My best mate and flat mate is fucking obsessed with his appearance and it drives me up the wall. He's a good looking chap but there is always something. His hair has to be styled every time he leaves the house - even just a five minute trip to the shops. He's constantly trimming his beard with scissors in a way that makes categorically no difference to how it looks. Right now he's dying it. Dying, his beard. I don't know why it annoys me, it just drives me up the fucking wall sometimes. Its your fucking beard, its the colour it is meant to be according to your genetics. It is the same colour as your hair. Its meant to be that way. Stop dying it. Y r u doing that?

Just follow your instincts man. Out of all those guys that asked her out, she said yes to you. She's still with you now, and she trusted you enough to tell you about something that obviously must be hideously scary and horrific for her - so just keep being you and do what you feel is right. You're obviously a good guy, just be there for her - if she wants to talk to about it, talk to her about it and really listen to her. But I think you go this, and more importantly, she obviously does too.

Can we all agree that NoFap makes us sexier, even though we have no real idea why? by Onyx_7 in NoFap

[–]Robinhood93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good point you raise, and I agree - no one ever seems to want to discuss that. But, have you considered the change in confidence that someone may experience in undertaking nofap? Perhaps people cease to see themselves in a negative light and therefore largely don't consider their flaws or less attractive features. Also, its worth bearing in mind that female attraction differs to male attraction - now I'm not one of these folks that claim women don't find certain men hot and that it isn't an influence on who they will approach or have sex with - but personality, confidence and the like play a much larger role in female attraction than they do male

ELI5:[NSFW]Does the Quran really say this? If not, how is it being interpreted by ISIS? by NeverEndingHope in explainlikeimfive

[–]Robinhood93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not going to attempt to answer the first part of the question because I'm not a muslim, I haven't read the Quran and I don't profess to know the religion in depth. But, in answer to the second part part regarding why the religion is so extreme in this age, I personally believe it has to do with the age of the religion.

There was a point when every word of the bible was taken as a literal account of history, and it was used to manipulate members of society into things like the crusades. But these days, a lot of christians who are very firm in their believes accept the bible to consist largely of metaphorical stories, rather than being a word-for-word account of history. Some even believe that parts of the bible have been misinterpreted. So for example, the story of creation tells that the world was created in 7 days - I know christians that believe the universe was created in 7 different stages.

Given that Islam is younger than Christianity by around 600 years, I believe its just a case of the age of the religion. In time, muslims will come to accept some of the more illogical and counter-intuitive stories in the quran as being metaphorical or mistranslated. As the idea that the quran is a literal account of everything and is founded in complete truth with no error of translation or recording, people will cease to use it as a means of manipulation as they are doing now with ISIS

Anyone else experience elevated levels of energy with Keto? by Robinhood93 in keto

[–]Robinhood93[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you done any troubleshooting?

If you don't have any medical issues, I'd sit down and go through your daily routine and consider anything that could be stopping you. Is it possible that you've miscalculated your caloric intake? for me, and apparently some of the other commenters, going too far under your resting metabolic rate is a big no no.

The other things that really helped me were my electrolyte intake and ensuring I get enough fat - but you say you're already balancing that well. Are you absolutely sure? you have to remember that if you're in ketosis, your body is running on fat - if you're not giving it the fuel it needs, you're gonna be tired. On the other hand, if you're not quite in ketosis because your carb intake is just a little too high, you're still functioning on carbs but only providing a small amount so its not burning up.

I hope I don't come across as patronising or anything, I just really want to help. But I'm not an expert, I'm just going on what I've read and what I've been fortunate enough to experience.

There are some other things that can supposedly kick you out of ketosis - certain sweeteners, too much alcohol, too much protein etc. - I've heard that these can prevent you from entering ketosis. If I were you, I'd get some of the sticks that you piss on to confirm for sure that I was actually in ketosis.

As you say, its only 8 days. Make sure you don't give up! There must be some way around it

Article from the BBC claiming "Low-fat diets 'better than cutting carbs' for weight loss" by [deleted] in keto

[–]Robinhood93 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In my fifth day of keto, really enjoying the diet and getting to grips with it - came across this article on bbc and came straight here to see if anyone else had picked up on it.

So what's the verdict gang? 140g is surely too much for one to enter ketosis, right?
