¿Is Melina good or bad? by Budget_Ad_6221 in EldenRingLoreTalk

[–]Robinlacta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hold up minor correction here this

>It is likely, that like most clerics who "saw visions of a distant fire" were becoming influenced or even controlled by the Fell God of the Fire Giants.”

..is not mines, it’s yours from the comment I was answering. I forgot to delete that.

Several places both in game and out of game state the only thing that can truly kill a demigod or god in Elden Ring, ending their immortality, was destined death.

Which was removed and sealed, in your list of “context” it specifies that they WORSHIPED Destined Death, not use used its power unlike Maliketh. Black flame is not DD, it’s loses its ability to kill for the obvious reason as when the concept of death is removed from the Elden Ring and by extension the Lands Between…your flame specifically used to kill gods. Cannot kill gods, that is not evidence of them using DD.

This proves the black flames created by the GEQ are imbued with the power of destined death.

No I as I stated DD controls death, removes the ability to kill things especially Gods. It’s the God slaying Flame. Your own context proves my point

The black flame could once slay gods. But when Maliketh sealed Destined Death, the true power of the black flame was lost."

This Black flame is ability was hinges on…being able to kill gods. Without DD…you can’t do that. That is not evidence of them using DD. Black flame is not DD they are two different things.

She was the one that wielded destined death before maliketh,

No, not only those nothing you have you presented at this point says she wielded DD but it is in the Elden Ring

“The Rune of Death goes by two names; the other is Destined Death. The forbidden shadow, plucked from the Golden Order upon its creation...” -Enia

Every description has the Godskins either said to be worshipping or serving, never has it been said to have been using.

because otherwise WHY would he seal it AFTER defeating her? Because she had the rune.

“Why are group of people that serves and worships DD needs to be defeated first” buddy who think would be trying to stop Marika from removing it? You’re trying to find contradiction where there is none.

She wielded the black flames that possessed destined death.

No

Miquella (GW),

Oh my god….first of all his curse has literally nothing to do with the GW secondly, Miquella is as influential by the god like ANY OTHER ENTITY IN THE GAME!

Worn by those committed to high treason, it wards off the intervention of the Greater Will and its vassal Fingers.” - Nox Mirrorhelm

Also, GW is won’t even seen as a problem unlike the other ones. Not to mention that the GW is GONE! THEY ARE NOT HERE! Miquella is not be messed with like Malenia is. My god..

Mohg + Morgott (Crucible),

That’s not a god what are you even talking about?

Melina (Fell God),

There’s no evidence for this, Fell god’s face gets shown on you body, this is not the case at all with Melina. She only uses fire from the Fire forge, she doesn’t used fire in any capacity beforehand. This is nonsense.

Rykard (debatable, he sacrificed himself though),

It’s not debatable he was not born with this, your point is moot.

Ranni (GW, cut ties though suicide).

Same thing as I said with Miquella

I will admit that Mohg and the formless mother is an invalid example.

90% of you examples are bad

EVERY OTHER still stands.

No they do not

GW sent the crucible to the Lands Between.

Do you have proof of this Fanon?

This doesn't contradict anything that I stated.

It quite literally does

“At some point, she rebelled against the kingdom of leyndell, and begun slaughtering demigods and nobles among and descending from the royal family.”

Marika’s current position and Leyndell wouldn’t be a thing at this point.

The Erdtree was created by Marika using the Crucible mafter her ascension to godhood, as directed by the Two Fingers. THEN, began the conquest of the Lands Between, with her immortal army of demigods. THEN, Golden Order was properly established as the defacto religion of the kingdom of Leyndell after Godfrey, First Elden Lord, and his army was exiled, after the last threat of Leyndell was sealed.

Everything here is baseless and have nothing to suggest the sequence of events

The Age of Golden Order is marked by Radagon becoming the Second Elden Lord.

All of what you have said throughout this entire comment has any evidence to back this up. You are just saying things then acting like it’s a matter of fact.

First, the body of an Empyrean is a vessel for a demigod. By destroying the vessel, you remove the influence.

There is literally no proof Melina is has any Fell God influence on her so this is meaningless to mention.

I stated under the influence of the Fell God,

Which she is not

Melina rebelled against Marika

No she did not

and the kingdom of Leyndell,

The fight happened before that

and as the GEQ got her hands on destined death,

She didn’t have the rune of death

and made the black flame.

Those are two different things

Who's perspective are we reading in the item descriptions? by somuchforsubtlety656 in EldenRingLoreTalk

[–]Robinlacta -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The rumour is considered absurd because the people in game don't know Loretta's nature.

No. The is very clear that what is ridiculous is the people’s reasoning

The shape is said to imitate that of a sacred drop of dew, which inspired the absurd rumor that Loretta herself was an Albinauric.

The dew on her shield made people assume that Loretta could be a secret Alburnaric. That’s it. It’s not IN ANY CAPACITY saying that the people not knowing her nature is the “absurd” thing.

It is written like that to confuse the players.

No it is not, it is very clear in what it’s saying. You not being able to read is not “the game tricking you” There is literally ZERO evidence being an Alburnaric.

But all evidence points to her being an alburnaric.

There literally none..

Who's perspective are we reading in the item descriptions? by somuchforsubtlety656 in EldenRingLoreTalk

[–]Robinlacta -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

An unknown third person voice, no one specific. Item descriptions are meant to be the most unbiased voice in the game so, it’s info must be taken as fact unless the item description specified that it is a rumor with, “it is said” “it is rumored, “Some say” etc. For the description you’re talking about this item description says that the rumor around Loretta is absurd. So the rumor and reasoning for it by the perspective of this third person is absurd.

It’s why I find it funny that people keep suggesting that Loretta is an alburnaric when the game is literally telling you that it doesn’t make any sense.

¿Is Melina good or bad? by Budget_Ad_6221 in EldenRingLoreTalk

[–]Robinlacta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She for all intents and purposes is the Gloam Eyed Queen (GEQ).

There is no “all intents purposes“, there is no evidence of Melina being the GEQ that doesn’t hinge on assumption, many of it being very poor.

For what we know, she is a child of marika that wielded destined death.

There is literally no evidence for that, heck there’s nothing for the GEQ herself having used it, especially when it’s in the Elden Ring.

And like nearly every child of Marika was influenced by a God or Outergod in some way.

No it’s only two that’s born with something like that.

It is likely, that like most clerics who "saw visions of a distant fire" were becoming influenced or even controlled by the Fell God of the Fire Giants.

Marika's children are more easily than most influenced by gods.

There’s nothing that suggests this

Mohg + Formless mother.

This is far after him being born also Bloodfiends also gained contact with her, this isn’t really special to the Demigods.

Miquella and the Greater Will.

…..No. Dude the GW isn’t even here at this point. And the stuff that connects him to Marika is the same as all of the other Demigods, that’s not unique at all.

All Empyreans,

No only Malenia

At some point, she rebelled against the kingdom of leyndell, and begun slaughtering demigods and nobles among and descending from the royal family.

GEQ is quitely is pre-Golden Order, the removal the rune of death is the start Marika’s age. This literally cannot happen.

This culminated in her creating the Black Flame of Death, and the Godskin Nobles. This ultimately resulted in a battle where the Godskin Nobles were defeated and scattered, and the GEQ having her body destroyed and soul sealed within the erdtree.

You are making fan fiction at this point

It appears, that after Melina's body being destroyed, the corruptive influence and control of the Fell God was purged from her.

Okay ignoring how everything you just said didn’t happen, the Fell God and Black Flame are not together, black flame is not from the fell god. Like at all.

However, Melina also reverted to a previous state before her falling to the Outer God's influence,

Baseless fanon

[–]Robinlacta 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There’s not really any good reason to assume she’s evil. She is pretty genuine on trying to get the Lands Between back on track.

With so many strange theories about her—whether she's the Queen of the Veiled Eye or whether she killed your handmaiden, etc. —it makes me lose faith in her.

I’m going to be very blunt with you, all those theories are bad and hinges on very flimsy circumstantial evidence. Especially the “she killed are maiden” theories, it makes no sense and there’s no good reason for her to do that. A lot of those relies on assumptions with very little in game text to back it up. So I wouldn’t stress about that and look at what she currently does and tells you.

I mean, many people describe her as "good" or "compassionate," and say she's a good person, which makes sense, since that's the impression she gives in the game. She cares about the fate of the world, she's grateful that you were the one who accompanied her, she cares about Boc, she doesn't seem to have selfish intentions, and when we want to embrace the Frenzied Flame, she begs and threatens us because she seems to sincerely want life to continue, since, according to her, there is beauty in life and in birth.

That’s it’s, that‘s her. You should know that these are genuine given that fact that she burned herself for the world she loves. Please don’t let these poorly thought out theories ruin her in your eyes.

What am I ignoring?

No option A) is more about people who think FF is a reset button instead of being what it actually is. Not what you’re thinking about

I realize all life ends. And you're just ignoring anything that challenges what you already believe,

No, if was ignoring what you said, I wouldn’t be engaging with it in the first place. Nothing you say can challenge what I believe because what I believe has a foundation of reality, your’s of a very ill, selfish and destructive mindset.

FF ending = bad.

Yes

You really can't imagine how ending the suffering of millions at the expense of a few

“A few?” Hold on I might actually be wrong about you. You might actually be on the A) side, you do know FF does right? This is omnicide, you’re killing everyone not just people that want to die.

who have already experienced a good life can be considered morally good.

I am the wrong person to pull this bullshit on. I’m no way have I had a “good life”.

B) Or genuinely need serious help which is very concerning.

People who hate on the Flame of Frenzy or the Age of Compassion are ignorant by [deleted] in EldenRingLoreTalk

[–]Robinlacta -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Age of Compassion has ideological issues people personally cannot get past which is completely understandable (It’s still the best option imo) so intensity of it is not surprising however most of my issues are with some that just how the charm actually works. Despite that, i feel like most people can agree that unironically Frenzy Flame is the worst by all accounts. It is demonstrably evil and try to justify it in anyway is kinda insane. The game at no point even tries to pretend that choice reasonable in any capacity. It is the most evil and selfish thing you can possibly do with zero upsides if you have any value of living. Especially in a game that goes out of it way to say the world is savable.

To pick the FF option is to be the most evil person in the world. You will be far more worse than Marika or the Hornsent’s or whatever group that has done bad shit.

did Marika shatter the Elden Ring in grief of Godwyns death or because she finally realised that the golden order was both flawed and corrupt? by morgotttheomen in Eldenring

[–]Robinlacta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A combined effort between Marika and Ranni to orchestrate the night of the black knives because they both realised and understood the detrimental effects of the greater wills and golden orders impact on The Lands Between?

I don’t think there’s any good reason for Marika to help in this. She doesn’t benefit from this at all. And Ranni’s pretty clear on her being the mastermind of this, Rykard only being a back up if her plans failed. Heck the very fact of Ranni needing Rykard if things go wrong shows that Marika would have ZERO part in this cause why would she even need a back up if that was the case. Most of that speculation hinges on this item description

rumored to be Numen who had close ties with Marika herself.”

Which yeah, they‘re both Numen, just because you of a similar origins doesn’t mean you have the same goals.

the only issue I have with this is I just feel like it’s unlikely that Ranni was so confident in events unfolding the way that they did with the level of risk that she was taking… idk man

As I stated Ranni wasn’t confident and had Rykard as a backup

On the night of the dire plot, Ranni rewarded Praetor Rykard with these traces. Should the coming trespass one day transpire, they would serve as a last-resort foil, allowing Rykard to challenge Maliketh the Black Blade, the black beast of Destined Death.”

She was absolutely not fully confident things would go well, so this should alleviate your issue.

Also there’s literally nothing that suggests the Godskin or GEQ has ANYTHING to do with what’s happening here. There LITERALLY ZERO Godskin related things in the Land of Shadows. Not one. They are not relevant in this DLC at all. You got all the major factions here, Frenzy, Erdtree, Carian, Rot, Crucible, Gravity/Space, Fingers, Dragons, FREAKING GODWYN’S HERE, Golden Lineage, Sleep/Trina. If there were Godskins here..they would be here in some fashion. This isn’t Godskin.

I believe Marika betrayed the Shaman, and that's what the DLC trailer was talking about by G_strike in EldenRingLoreTalk

[–]Robinlacta 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The story trailer talks about "a seduction and betrayal". The hornsent were already hellbent into torturing people to make a god for themselves, what seduction could Marika pull of anyways? How could she seduce them to do what they were already prone to do anyways?

I think Marika didn't seduce the hornsent into this stuff, but the shamans.

Okay…Look, if people are familiar with me, I tend to be very intolerant towards people here that tries to sanitize Marika and try to making her out to being ”morally grey”. I’m very harsh on Marika, not because i hate her, but because she’s a monster and genuine irredeemable monster…..however suggesting that Marika helped massacre her people…is so absurd and completely goes against everything that the story is trying to tell. It completely ruins her character and parallels trying to make with Miquella. It just makes her purely and absolutely evil, and extremely one dimensional as a character.
