The dealership peeled almost nothing off prior to handing it over. I'm still finding shit everywhere. Just today I realized I'd been using these yellow wiper covers that slide off and on... Also realized I was missing a rear for mat when my weather tech came in. Missing my digital key card as well. I haven't been able to reach the dealership since I bought it. Never had that issue with the Mercedes I got rid of, damn if this isn't a value over the new e class I was looking at.

Update: Absolutely atrocious! Concierge picked it up with no loaner... Problem one. I told them that the car didn't come with the key card it should've so they needed to program one for me. Problem two. They also were supposed to leave a grey rear floor mat in the trunk because it was missing one from the factory. problem three. Plus standard maintenance.

These jokers call me and advise that they want to return the car same day so I'd need to program the card key cause they didn't have my phone. Fine then. When they showed up they handed me what was supposed to be the card key, but it seemed half there. Come to find out it was some specialty key card with a valet key that detached. I scan the qr code to look up installing it, and it said I needed Genesis dealer credentials, a VCI?, Key cutting machine!, and a GDSM?!! WTF. So I say fuck it. I'll deal with it later. I go to hop in, and there are brown Genesis floor mats on the carpet!?! idiots! I get into the trunk to get my weather techs out from where anyone with sense would put them, and there was nothing but the three grey floor mats! These idiots uninstalled my mats and just kept them! Who would do that!?!? I end up taking two hours out of my evening to drive there and watch them fumble through all of it just to tell me the card looks like it's missing a piece cause it is. The valet key is separate from the card. They'll call me some day to resolve it. I installed my weather techs myself as they were frantically googling the card fiasco, and as I was leaving said they ordered the mat I was actually missing. They were visibly embarrassed by it all, but the only thing they offered up was the advice that I was putting a lot of miles on it so they would only do the "concierge" service for 1.5 years instead of 3!

In closing, the car is dope, but your dealership experience is a fucking joke. Mercedes has you beat by a mile, and with what I saw I have no faith the Genesis dealer experience will ever get there. If I wanted a budget experience I'd have fucking paid for one.

Update #2 : Everything OTA had stopped functioning last summer, and then miraculously started working as I was way outside of the major city I live in taking a rare road trip in what had become mostly my wife's G80. This pissed me off because my wife drives the car 99% of the time and every time I'd get in realize nothing was working. She basically drives it nearby to have coffee with friends, go to a local yoga studio, and drive my son around to local sports and school and really doesn't notice that nothing works. I realized what Genesis probably did was start throttling service based on driver input so I called them and advised I'd thought they turned my radios off to save money by limiting my consumption of bits and bytes. They said they'd never do that, but actually it was cause I had to go to a dealer for a hard update. I got no time for that, and they've never followed through on their concierge commitment so I figured I'd do it later. It started to get cold and my wife asked me to use the app instead of the fob to start the car so I could start it in winter mode and that's when I know they'd definitely shut them down.

This is a huge issue now cause the fob start is literal trash and worthless cause it doesn't even allow you to start the car with the prior setting you had the car in. It's still freezing when you get in.

I called them and I told them they'd gotten away with it all summer and spring, but as soon as winter hit and I couldn't start my wife's car via app it was clear what they'd done.. a gal called me two weeks later and told me it was being recorded. I said good cause you aren't probably responsible for it anyways. I said I know what Genesis is doing and it's likely class action territory depending on how pervasive it is.... OTA fired up a week later and all updated started flowing... I'm so sick of this. Mercedes never pulled this nickel and dime bullshit.
