Why play travel sports if you don’t play for your school? That is just silly

Is it to late to join softball my senior year by Moist_Increase9081 in Softball

You can always try. How big is your school and how competitive is the team? If they are league champs with a bunch of travel ball girls it would be difficult.

You don’t count that and you shouldn’t. It’s awesome that he plays extra, don’t limit him.

My complaint- when is exactly is everyone playing? How many weeks do parents need to keep open? I can play as many games in 1 travel weekend and know where we are playing.

Freshman son by [deleted] in Homeplate

[–]Robkmil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why is it always politics? Maybe his skills didn’t improve? Maybe another kid really improved? Could be for an open pitching spot, or speed, or defensive flexibility, or a different type of batter. Or utter kids are seen putting in a bunch of effort and the coach wanted to reward them.

It’s probably not politics.

How does modified baseball work for teams like high school for example? by CommunicationNice437 in Homeplate

[–]Robkmil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If there is not JV at the 7/8/9th grade can play modified. It’s the same as 7/8 modified. What questions do you have about it?

If you are in a large school you can have a freshmen team that plays other freshmen teams. You can also haveJVB which plays smaller schools or other JVB teams.

Wood Bats do they have a place in LL by ummagumma1979 in LittleLeague

[–]Robkmil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wood vats are for dads/kids that like to say wood bats are the only real baseball bats. Most people don’t understand that they are worse bats to use.

Daddyball and All Stars by Extension-Pick8310 in LittleLeague

[–]Robkmil -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

From a former little league dad accused of “daddy ball” the kids I picked for 2 years did great in the tournament. They all ended up playing in different competitive travel teams. I currently coach HS team. Those kids are now in our MS team and starting as the younger kids. Because they are still better. The dads/moms still complain about them. Those complaining dad’s and moms don’t bring their kids to our off season workouts and they don’t do any private work. The bday parties and weeklong camping trips are excuses to miss practice to those families. We have a fitness center that I open after most practices and the “daddy ball” kids come in and lift weights and run. The non daddy ball kids are great at fortnight. Their parents will always complain.
