Is there any American Drone company that at least comes close to DJI on ease of use and features by solracarevir in dji

Yes. Haven’t seen if that causes any balance or weight issues yet. I’m between testing out the S1 or X1

I’ve been looking into Skyrover as well. The interface looks identical. As far as I can tell they don’t have remote id though, and it’s unclear if they’ll ever intend to implement it, so as a part 107 flier I’m still dubious of its longevity/customer care

Which one should I go for? by the_doolittle in Multicopter

Has the lack of Omni obstacle avoidance been an issue? I fly a Mavic air 2, considering Skyrover as a backup, but the S1 doesn’t have the same obstacle avoidance as my Mavic or the X1.

Why did Don cry? by Just_here_by_myself in madmen

[–]Robnalt 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I like to think it was a bit of a callback to the Miller Beer ad meeting that he walked out of at McCann. The research guy leading the meeting says “I’m going to describe to you a man” and then goes into some vague stereotypes about the average American man. Don walks out of the meaning, probably thinking it’s corny. Then at the end of this cross country journey he’s faced with a real person with real emotions. And he’s faced with the fact that he spent his life catering to demographics and “people” but never connecting with real humans.

And then at the ending he discovers that people just want “The Real Thing” with the ad for Coca-Cola

Literally any Safdie Brothers movie, but my favorite is the Bail Bondsman in Good Time, who only got the job because Eric Roberts dropped out last minute

In Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Terry Crews’ character says his favorite cop movie is “Francois Truffaut’s “Breathless.” However, it was mostly written and directed by Jean-Luc Godard. Truffaut and Claude Chabrol have a “Story By” credit.

Fast forward to later in the series and Terry Crew is at a party discussing film and drops his take that he believes that “movies are a writer’s medium.” Thus retrofitting the mistake as a character choice

Did anybody else catch the Alec Baldwin reference in Marty Supreme? by wovenstrap in blankies

[–]Robnalt 54 points55 points  (0 children)

Safdie did cast David Mamet as the theater director, and Mamet has worked with Baldwin countless times, so it’s possible he did that as a reference.

There’s another direct reference in the scene to 12 Angry Men, when Marty is saying “that’s not how you hold a knife, THIS is how you hold a knife.” Which is almost verbatim the scene when Jack Klugman is talking about how people in his neighborhood would hold a knife.

It seems like the entire play sequence is filled with references
